'99 Oldsmobile Aurora Turn Signal problem

I have an '99 Olds Aurora. I heard they had turn signal switch problems. Depsite the rediculous price it is to get, I was reading about the flasher fuse thingys underneath the steering column. Could that a cheaper fix for this problem rather then paying $250 for something that shouldnt even cost that much?

In theory, you could "break away" the lighting system from the original and build your own separate harness...but unless you have done this sort of thing before, I don't suggest this as a first electrical project. Otherwise the answer is no. I too cant understand the value of replacing a $5.00 part with expensive electronics that are seemingly far less reliable but as long as people keep buying this stuff, they will keep on making it!!!

Why does my turn signals dontwork, its a 2001 aurora,

In the rear fuse block, check the 10A T/SIG HAZ fuse and the 10A IGN-1 fuse. In addition, the turn signal/hazard flasher module and/or the turn signal/multifunction switch may be defective.

I can't find the turn signal flashers on my 99 Olds delta 88 but I did find the emergency flasher. Does it have one or two flashers because my signal light are not working at all HELP PLEASE!!

One flasher only. Check fuses first. Then suspect the flasher as a possibility. I have seen the hazard switch cause the turn signals to malfunction. Try pressing the hazard button in. If they work and flash as hazards you know the bulbs and flasher are ok. If the turn signals then work you have a defective multifunction switch (the hazard/turn signal/etc switch)

Where is turn signal flasher on 2001 olds aurora

Hazard and Turn Signal Flasher Replacement
Remove the left knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
Remove the left IP endcap. Refer to Instrument Panel Outer Trim Cover Replacement
Gently pry outward on the rear edge of the IP outer trim cover until the retainers securing the outer trim cover to the IP retainer disengage from the retainer. Slide the IP outer trim cover rearward until the tabs on the front edge of the outer trim cover disengage from the IP retainer.
Remove the knee bolster compartment by pulling past the holding tab (1) and lifting up.
Unsnap the knee bolster by pulling down and rearward to remove from the vehicle
Remove the hazard and turn signal flasher module (1) from the I/P carrier. Disconnect the electrical connector.

My dealer says the switch for the windshield wipers on my 2002 olds aurora needs to be replaced. How much should that cost?

The cost of your part retail and NOT dealer (dealers usually mark WAY UP) is about $195 you can see one here.http://www.autopartsdeal.com/catalog/?N=0&uts=true&Ntt=2003+Oldsmobile+Aurora+AC+Delco+Switch+Assembly

The issue is that the wipers are controlled on the turn signal column, etc. So whole part has to be replaced. Dealer labor rates run about $85 per hour and the book says this is less than 2 hour job if done right. Be careful if you want to do it yourself as you will be working with the electrical in the steering column and the airbag is located in that area. Ive seen accidental activations by shorting out wiring.

Where does the turn signal relay plug go on a 99 olds aurora

Normaly it is under the hood on the drivers side under a plastic cover but it should easy to see and remove. If it is not there look at your fuse panel and at the top is another place ther have ther turn signal relays.

92 olds cutlass supreme turn signal broken

Start by checking the fuses that's simple
than relay than bulbs
last you may have to remove the steering wheel and than replace the entire signal assembly those are pretty much all your options so start with 1 and work your way down the list

Don't replace the entire switch, clean any of the relays or take the switch apart. You'll notice at the back of that switch where wires are attached to the blades that they are exposed. My guess is that you'll also notice the tilt steering wheel "release" is bare metal and in very close proximity. Insulate the lever with something (I cut apart a plastic water bottle, melted it in half, then fused the ends with a butane soldering torch) and put everyhting back together). The blades at the back of the switch are arcing across to the tilt lever.

voila
