Your stereo may have a security code that needs to be entered whenever the radio is disconnecred from the battery. It's an anti-theft device that makes the radio worthless to theives (even though nobody would steal a factory radio but, I digress...).

Have a look through all of the documentation for your van, owners manual, any additional pamphelts, etc. There may be one for the radio that should contain the reset code.

There is a radio option to recalibrate your touch screen. Please press the following three hard keys simultaneously RADIO/MEDIA, SEEK UP, NAV (AUDIO on REN). Once you begin to recalibrate the touch screen you must finish. Audio confirmation prompts are provided for each of the three points of calibration, one beep for the first, two for the second and three for the third. The calibration needs to be precise as possible and a PDA stylus would be recommended. The MyGIG radio requires the user to repress each calibration point to confirm the calibration process. A green crosshair indicates proper calibration. You must not start with the "+" but with the "+1", then goto "+2" and last to "+". Repeat this until all crosses are green and exit with pushing the menue or any other key. Done

One day i and my boyfriend and my dad were trying to figure out why my lighter switch doesnt work so my boyfriend pulled the a fuse out from under the hood.A small one i think it had the number 15 on...

Did he put the fuse back in? Check with him and see. You need that fuse to start the vehicle, you can always go and buy another one and put it in. It should be marked in an obvious place under the hood. This is the fusible link fuse that is on the positive cable of the battery going back away from the battery, it should be clearly marked at the spot where it goes.

2001 neon wont start when hot starter, relay and ign. switch have been replaced. Even my mechanic cant think of the problem. Has enough power, turn key all power comes on (lights, stereo, gauges) but turn...

Have him check the resistance in the wiring when the vehicle is hot. It sounds like a wire is heating up too much and not letting current flow through it properly.

Trying to set time after battery died, not shown in manuel correctly

Usually on older AC-Delco/Remy Radio, press the "set" button and it will take you back to the radio station frequency, then push the left knob inward, then it will take you back to the time again. Before the "set" mode ceases, use the seek and scan buttons to change the minute and hour for the time, until you get to the time you want.

Other models will have the "set" button being a small almost hidden button, you can use a paper clip pin end to depress. Which will initiate the "set" mode, then you can push in the left or right knobs and the time mode will come on. Then using seek rocker switch or the seek and scan buttons the time minutes and hours will start to change.

The last type is where you have to either hold down the set button then use the seek and scan buttons or you have to hold down the set button for about 4 seconds then the clock will go into a blinking or set display mode, for which you can use either the knobs or the seek and scan buttons to produce minute and hour change display on your clock.

Try these methods. I know on older GM vehicles with AC Delco/Remy type radios/stereos, usually there is a "set" button for setting your favorite radio stations to instant numbered buttons, usually up to four or five of them. This same "set" button can be used to set the time. But when you hit the "set" button it will take you to the radio station frequency, not the time. That is when you press in the left knob or sometimes the right knob, and the time display will come on, while it is still in the set mode. Then you can press on the seek and scan buttons, one of them will change your minutes the other one will change your hours, for your clock display time. When you reach the correct time you desire, then hit the "set" button again, which will turn off the set mode. Your clock should start working normally, starting from the time you've set

Battery - alternator

The best thing to do is first check all the fuses, I think there is second fuse box under the hood, look in the owners manual, also check for any shorted wiring where the radio was. If all this appears ok go to Kragen auto, Auto Zone etc and they will test the alt for free, please note that some Japanese charging systems require a good battery to work, so pulling the battery cable off may not be a valid test on this import.
