Looked this up online, it says you may have to disconnect the fuel hose and tubes from the starter body, sounds like they get in the way of access to the bolts that hold the starter. of course you want to disconnect the battery negative terminal first, otherwise you risk causing a spark when you disconnect the starter connections, that would be especially bad if there are fuel lines right there by the starter. hope that helps

starter gear is probably stuck in flywheel. 1. disconnect battery 2. use correct size socket w/ratchet and turn the crankshaft on front of motor. the bolt is inside crankshaft pulley.

Removed two bolts from starter and cannot get starter out heard may be extra support bolts but cant locate

I had a Toyota with an odd-ball starter bolt from the back side of where the starter mounted. It didn't even look like a starter bolt, but sure enough, it was. So keep checking, you may have a third bolt you haven't found.

Just need the instructions on how to change the starter on a 1998 GMC 1500 with a 4.3.

start by diconnecting the negative battery terminal, Locate the starter under the truck, should be 2 bolts verticaly though the starter. Loosen both of the bolts but do not remove them. On top of the starter their should be a large and a small wire connected disconnect both of them ( if u cant reach or see them remove the starter by taking out the 2 verticle bolts then remover wires) once bolts and wires are off the starter just wiggle it into postion and remove between the motor/ exausht and frame. Try to remember how it comes out will make it simpler to fit going back in. if thier isnt enough clearence u may have to notch the frame or loosen the motor mounts and raise the engine slight with a floor jack.,

Trying to change a stater cant find the bolts on top

the top bolts come in from the rear of the bell housing. They these bolts mount both the bell housing to the block and the starter motor to the block. Under neath just line up wich mount bolts are close to the starter and undo them, possibly 2 that hold them. once remove starter should fall straight into your hand

Need to change the starter and cant get to the second bolt ....... dont know what to do next need some help

Kind of hard to explain with words. Try this, deep socket- 6 in.extension- ratchet. Put it next to starter (as if taking out the first bolt), then slide it up and over the starter. Sometimes you can't come in from the back.

Starter 99 s10

First disconnect the positive battery cable. You already have the bolts out. pull the starter back and down and it will drop out. do not let it hand from the wires. Disconnect the wires to the starter. Pay attention as to which wire comes off what terminal. They must be attached correctly or your starter will not crank after installation. Then the last thing you do will be to hook the battery up again.
