code p 0871 refers to transmission fluid pressure (TFP) sensor C ---range /performance problem ==== causes --wiring ---poor connections ---TFP sensor ---ECM---TCM
code p 0841 refers to TFP sensor A same problems and same causes
if the connections are clean and tight and the wiring is in good condition , you change out both sensors and check the transmission control module (TCM) for operation

I have a 2004 Hyundai elantra. When driving all my gauges turn off including my odometer and speedometer. My car loses power and the automatic trans. has trouble shifting. My battery completely dies,...

I am having the same problem with my 2004 Elantra. I have had the alternator tested twice and did replace the battery. This morning I had it running ad put a volt meter on it ( red to the battery pos black to the engine block) I did get a reading of 14 volts for about 30 seconds then the idle lowered and the voltage dropped to 12 volts. I tried this again later but could not get a voltage reading above 12 volts with the motor running. Any suggestions?

Hyundai accent won't move in reverse. It can go foward just fine.

on a hyundai you have a shifting sensor attached to the transmission that if it starts to go bad it will cause many problems, hard shifting, loss of power or no shifting.
