then its your throtlebody sensor or your idle air intake sensor. You should also clean your throtle body out really good while your doing all this. When was the last time you put in a new set of spark plugs. this can fix many problems.

SOURCE: diagnoses : 2002 745i bmw ( hot-film air-mass flow senser )

Hot-film air mass sensor when diagnose say is damaged, replace it!!! Trouble when car will take up to 5.sec. is associated with this! Bank 1, the accumulated value of lambdasond the left side of the engine cylinders. While the problem is in the ignition at the 4th cylinder, Bank-1 data were then evaluated as poor. Allow change fourth ignition coil and the CAN mistake Dont look it! is an accidental fault! eventually allow for BMW servicing erase all the mistakes and make a new adaptation of the engine throttle body, and adaptation of the engine in to "0" setting

What sensor or valve do I replace on my 2001 Chevy impala

from what you are saying with out me checking it, the mass air flow meter is bad it is located in the air induct hose{the ********* hose going to the air filter} has a plug on it and attached to the flex air intake hose with clamps now a trick I learded first is crank car let idle take a wrench and tap the air flow meter and see if it dies or runs rough if so change the air flow sensor Good Luck MIke L.

Faulty air flow meter

If the idle air control valve is bad, you'll have trouble with rough idle, stalling, surging etc. along with the sluggishness. The Mass Air Flow sensor is more likely the cause. Not sure where you're located but at AutoZone, you can return the part if you have to.

Engen problem and missing

Sir, your question is not very clear, but I will still try to post a solution here. Engine missing could be due to any problem in fuel system, ignition system, engine or ECM as well.

LOW ENGINE IDLE SPEED (Poor idling):
-Throttle body (do the cleaning and idle speed learning)
-A /C signal circuit
-Fuel pump control circuit
-Fuel pump
-Intake system
-P C V valve (clogged or open) and hose

ROUGH IDLING:
-Cylinder Compression
-Ignition system (Igniters, spark plugs, wiring harness)
-Spark plug fouled, gap too wide or too short. (1.00-1.1 mm)
-Fuel injector circuit
-E C M power source circuit
-Fuel pump control circuit
-Fuel pump (required pressure 44 psi - 49 psi)
-Throttle body (cleaning)
-Intake system
-P C V valve and hose
-Air fuel ratio sensor
-Heated oxygen s ens or
-Mass air flow meter
-Idle hunting
-Throttle body
-Intake system
-P C V valve and hose
-Air fuel ratio sensor
-Mass air flow meter

HESITATION/ POOR ACCELERATION:
-Fuel pump control circuit
-Fuel pump
-Spark plug
-Ignition system
-Fuel injector circuit
-E C M power source circuit
-Mass air flow meter
-Throttle body (do cleaning)
-Intake system
-Valve timing
-Cylinder Compression

I have a 1997 bmw 740i. Check engine light came on (matco tool read multiple misfire code on #1, 2, 3 & 6 cylinder). Exhaust has white/blue smoke pouring out.

Multiple misfires usually are caused by a bad crank sensor, some times it can be a bad cam sensor but that usually does not go bad.

1996 t bird 4.6l idles up and down

If it idles up and down real high, its the throttle body sensor. If it's a low up and down idle and runs rough it is mass air flow meter. If you unplug the mass airflow meter and it will just low idle (no up & down) then the mass air flow meter is bad.

Saab 95 2002 3.0l v6 turbo. when warm, starts to

Have you had your mass air meter checked or replaced? This is the unit attached to the air intake hose behind your air filter. It senses the air temperature, speed, density, etc... and adjusts the fuel/air ratio to keep the vehicle running at "peak" performance. Also, check your TPS (throttle positioning sensor) it can also cause the problem you speak of. The TPS adjusts your engine speed/idle etc. and also compensates for hot/cold changes etc. This is roughly a $35.00 part and in most cases usually an easy fix.

1987 bmw 325 idles rough

On the 325 series I have worked on (your year, make, model), I have found that idling issues like you describe are the result of a defective oxygen sensor. Replace the oxygen sensor with a Bosch unit. That should take care of your issue.
