Question about 2002 Ford F250 Super Duty SuperCab

Open Question

2000 F250 7.3 automatic 4+4 transfercase will not engage

I have a 2000 F250 7,3 automatic with lockouts.
The transfercase motor will not engage four wheel drive or four low. I have checked the four wheel drive fuses and replaced the switch on the dash. I removed the 4+4 motor and powererd it on the bench. It will spin but does not engage on the bench, I think that is because the six pin connector is not connected when its on the bench. But why will it not do anything when its in the vehicle. Also the light feature on the switch does not light up when the lights are on, that does not bother me, but maybe its a related problem.
PLEASE any thoughts will help.
Thanks
Roger

SOURCE: My 2004 F-150 Ford Truck will not engage into 4 wheel drive low.

I am going to ask a dumb question....do you have it in neutral and the brake mashed when you switch to 4WD LOW? I believe that is what my book says to do.

No four wheel drive

problem could be transfercase shift control module.or check 10 AMP fuse to the front axle switch since the transfercase module will send a signal to engage front axle then transfercase encoder is mounted to the shift motor so the transfercase control module control shift control motors also transfercase speed sensors.the transfercase assembly complex system work on since every thing electronic controlled.

check both front lockouts,1 side or the other could have broken, unlock 1 side and reach underneath and try turning the axel on the other side-----if it turns all the way around, then replace that lockout,if it doesnt turrn then try unlocking that side and lock in the other side and see if you can turn it,if so then replace that lockout.if not then something might be wrong with the transfercase to the way it engages

I have a 1994 Ford F-150 with manual locking hubs. I locked in the front axle, shifted into 4H and the front end did not engage. What's going wrong? The dash ligh was on and i believe the transfer case was...

its most likely a sticky or dirty lockout,or if its below freezing where you are at,then a frozen lockout--with ice or too thick of grease, then warm up a little with small torch..or a broken lockout..its easy to tell which one, reach under neath with the transfercase in 2wd and turn each front axel shaft all the way around with the lockouts locked in,if 1 side doesnt turn by hand then that side works.if it does turn then fix or replace that side...when turning by hand keep the front wheels straight, otherwise the nuckle joints in the front axel shafts will bind and make you think they are not turning.
