  • Try to adjust the the adjuster in the brake or check the brake fluid and after you adjust the break adjuster located in the brake pads check the repair kits I think you need to change it and after you change the repair kits make sure to bleed the brakes so it will work properly. If you can change this on your own consult a mechanic.

2008 astra stuck in park

I find if you park on a grade different cars have a habit of doing that. Get some one to rock the car back and forth and keep working the lever as they do. I had mine stick just a week ago but I got it to release just by forcing the shifter. But don't do it hard enough to break it.

2000 Ford Taurus Wagon. Driver side rear caliper is not releasing fully. All pads and calipers were replaced at the same time. Notice diver side caliper sticking replaced and still sticks. Replaced brake...

I remember that each caliper is pushed back by "Rollout" after the brakes are pressed. If the caliper is harder to move it my not push back. May have to change O-ring seals on caliper.

Hope this helps.

Parking break wont release

I suspect the parking brake cables are rusted & corroded inside the cable housings. They are coated but they do freeze up.

Car will start but gear shift is locked

follow instructions in manual for SHIFTLOCK RELEASE

Turn off car.
Engage Parking Break
Take ignition key and put into shift lock release slot (near gear shift)
Push down on key and at same time MOVE gear shift to neutral.
Remove key, start car as normal and disengage parking break...

good to go.... mechanic can replace/repair if this is an ongoing issue: $85 I read somewhere...but heard it's not hard to do yourself for $35 someone else wrote.

Goodluck
