SOURCE: sqeeking noise only while turning

Take a peak under your van. Check your sway bar bushings. Those like to wear out on those vans. It it's a high pitched squeal, there are bearings that the steering shaft rides on. Those might be squeaking on you. If you remove the lower panels on the driver's side, you can spray a good lubricant on the shaft bearings and it may quiet the sqeaking down.

SOURCE: Humming noise from Steering Wheel

I have frequently run into this problem. The "clock spring" in the steering column has a plastic case (shrinks when cold/expands when temperature warms up). It's a design flaw, not a defect. Replacing the clock spring usually eliminates the noise for awhile, but eventually it returns. It's one of those things that drives some people up the wall, but others just ignore it.

SOURCE: Squeaky steering wheel?

Try using some type of lubricant on the pass through on the fire wall. If you look down under the dash by the break peddle you will see where the steering shaft goes through the firewall. Get a litium grease to spray between the shaft and the rubber groumet that it goes through. Not a whole bunch but enough. spray it a little then trun the wheel back and forth then do it again.
This should solve the problem, If it's the noise that I have been encountering lots at work.

Much will cost replace power steering

the hard power steering is given away by the loud squeaky noise . It is the drive bely slipping from worn out or needs adjustment.. If the key problem is in the switch the replace the switch of if it is not engaging the starter motor have a look at the battery connections (shiny clean and tight) or the solenoid or starter relay.

There is a noise coming from the right-front wheel area during a left turn. It almost sounds like a tire-rub on the inner wheel-well cover, but it also makes this same noise when stationary while turning...

I had this same problem and the dealer could not reproduce the noise when I would take it in to get looked at. (during the day when the temperature was warm) So I decided to leave it over night and they test drove it in the morning when the temperature was cold and they heard the noise. It ended up bing the steering rack.
