You may want to check the switch or the wiring for the fan if they do not have any loose connections or damages. If that checks out, you may want to check on the control resistor if it is still ok or if it is just loose.

My 2001 Nissan pathfinder heater will not turn off. A/c worked fine and did come on one time when tryed but the heats up now at any setting and is extremely hot.

There are three culprits that may cause this.

1:Many people have great luck with replacing the resistor unit for the blower motor. While I cannot guarantee this is the issue you have, it is the most common. (Approx $45. )
eBay link..

2: Others have luck when replacing the actual Plastic switch inside. This runs about $50

3: Then there is the blower motor amplifier.. (approx $110)

Your service manual will show location of these items or a quick search online for schematic for your model will produce results to assist you from here.

Hope this helps.

Blower runs on high when switch is turned on and will not turn off

You have a short to ground most likely caused by a bad blower motor resistor. However you may also want to check the the blower motor relay for stuck contacts.

My 2002 nissan Pathfinders heater switch works on on 1,2,3 not 4

For the screeching noise you need to replace the blower motor and for the blower motor speed you need to replace the blower motor resistor.

I just fixed my 2002 Path that has the same problem as yours today. The problem is due to the malfunction of power assembly module (part #27761-70T03). Refer to step by step instructions by Andrew224 and Solara on the following forum It easy to do it yourself (30 min max) ..... good luck.

Air conditioner 2002 mercury marquis

In the engine bay, there is a set of fuses by the battery. Pop open the fuse panel. There should be a set of relays. Check in your manual under "Roadside Emergenies" for the relays and you will find one for the A/C Compressor. The compressor normally checks out fine, it is a common problem that the relay goes bad. Swap the relay with a new one and you should be golden!

2002 Nissan Pathfinder-heat works fine but loud screeching noise

Yes. The other Components VERY Rarely go out. So changing them will not do much, Everytime the Blower Motor has to be Replaced. You are just skipping the Trial and Error Process.

You can Check those with a Voltometer But, Ultimately you will have to Change the Blower Motor.

Pathfinder blower problem

I would look at the blower motor itself. The heater circuit works, since you can adjust the speed of the fan. The blower motor is behind the glove box, right above your right foot, when you are sitting in the passenger seat. Turn your heater on speed 3 and tap the bottom of the blower motor (round piece about 4 inches in diamater at the bottom of the blower assembly is the motor itself) with a hammer. It may come on, but it may not. If it doesnt come on, then you will need to unplug it (2 wire plug) and check for power at the connector it self. Good luck and let me know what you find.
