2000 Mercedes ML430 Battery Change Failed

My original remote for my 2000 Mercedes ML430 died. I purchased 2 new Maxell CR2025 3V batteries to replace in the remote. Now my remote will not work. Maxell brand of batteries came stock with the remote. I can turn the car on no problem, but I need to lock and unlock car doors manually now instead with remote.

You have to resynch your remote once it looses power. the procedure is in your owner's manual. It can also be done from a scan tool but you would have to take the car to a shop. I beleive you hold the lock button and press the unlock button 5 times within 10 seconds and then put the key in the ignition but I cannot remember year for year procedures

Some Mercedes models have two batteries. If you were not the original owner you may not know this. Why two. The extra battery operates the starter even if the main battery goes dead. The extra battery is usually located under the cabin filter in the engine compartment. It is a special battery (small) like a motor cycle battery. It has probably died. Check your owners manual as locations may have changed. It is about 100 fix if you change it yourself.

My 2000 Mercedes Benz S500 is dead- electronic key does not

It's not that unusual for a battery to fail that soon, and the "no lights, no nothing" says that it's the battery again. Your best bet at this point is to pull the battery and take it to the point of purchase for testing. They should either replace it under warranty or charge it for you. After you replace the battery you should have the charging/electrical system checked for possible shorts or power drains.

Can not open the door with remote key and the key

If the battery is dead or so weak it won't be able to run the circuit inside the key. When the key is plugged in the start, it won't emit the signal to be recognized, the engine will not start.
1- There are 2 lithium batteries in the remote key to be replaced.
2- Is it possible that you pick up the remote key from another Mercedes car in the house since they are all look like.
3- Since you can open the door manually it means the key is correct. However, kids in the house and swap keys from FOB from its original ones.
4- After replacing battery then it's still not working, before order a new FOB, I advise you to read this link, it may help you save a couple hundred dollars

Battery replacement

Easy replacement. The battery is located underneath the fuse block in the engine compartment. Stores like AutoZone will replace your battery free of charge if you purchase the battery from them. Personally, I like the Sears Die-Hard, but they charge a nominal fee. Probably not the original battery after all these years, so check for a warranty replacement by looking for the earlier receipt.

Does the remote key for a 2001 mercedez s500 have a replaceable battery?

There are (2) batteries (CR2025) inside the remote key which can be replaced. You remove the spare key and the top of the remote can be pried open.
