Sounds like too high of head preasure for compressor, check cooling fan operation. also spay water on front of car (on condensor, located in front of radiator) see if compressor stays on while doing this.

Can air con turn on without cooling gas

are you talking about refrigerant when you say cooling gas? if your systems pressure is too low there is usually a pressure switch in the system that wont let the compressor kick on so no, it shouldnt run if the system isnt charged with refrigerant, although I cant gaurantee its the same for every vehicle.

Honda Accord 2003 4dr LX - AC does not cool always. The compressor does not kick in every time. When it comes on, it is very cold But otherwise there is no click sound. I got it checked by the mechanic...

Most likely a restriction in the lines causing the compressor to shut down after a breif period of cold air. Check for bad orifice tube or thermal expantion valve.

I have a 1992 honda accord we have repalced comperssor both engine fans and added new freon with oil ....but the compressor does not kick in until 20 min later? baffled

prior to adding the freon did you have system evacuated with a vacuum pump???? If not there is air in your system causing the delay reaction for compressor to kick in

Same problem

Check for ac low pressure switch gone bad.If the expansion valve goes bad it will cause that problem, also, make sure there is enough freon in system. If you could get some one to put ac gauges on the vehicle you could tell a lot about the system,It would tell if the low side was too low(bad expansion valve)or if it was too high on the low side or high side (bas expansion valve or block dryer or condenser.

No cold air. compressor works for seconds and shuts off

Replace the compressor, if it quits running after a few seconds, it is more than likely your compressor causing the problems

I haver a 1989 cadi. and the air condi. compressor kicks on and offa and doesn't cool

if the compressor kicks on and off and doesn't cool this is the first sign of not having enough charge in the system. the a/c clutch will always kick on and off while running becuase this is dictated by the expansion valve which regulates the system, however you should have cool air about 50 degrees F for 134a at 35 psi on lowside and 130 150 psi on high side. the undercharge can becaused by degration of the 134a overtime or a leak in the system. have a certified ac tech look at the system and do a vaccum check for leaks if it holds a vaccum for 15 minutes at -29psi then there is no leak and the system just needs recharging.. please rate this

2000 accord no fuel pressure

there is no pump in the tank to pressurise the fuel. it is all pulled by vaccum. i would guess it is sucking air somewhere or you didn't clean the high pressure lines correctly and it is leaking fuel into the crankcase. also you shouldn't reseal the injector sleeves, they should be replaced and lock tight put on the tips when reinstalled
