Question about 1990 Plymouth Acclaim

1 Answer

I just had the temperature sensor and 3 belts replaced on my 1990 plymouth acclaim. The mechanic also added freon. I drove it home from the shop about 5 miles from my house with no a/c on and the car got hot. I noticed the electric fan only comes on when I run the a/c and the fans runs constantly but when i turn the a/c off, the fan stops and the car gets hot. What did the mechanic do if he did do something? Thanks.

Probably either forgot to hook sensor up after replacing it, or didn't bleed air out of cooling system properly. Was it over heating prior to sensor replacement?

What does the belt look like on a 1990 acclaim that goes on alternater pulley. are what is it called autozone is not helping me.

the acclaim has a V-belt. It is only one belt that runs just the altenator.
A serpentine belt is the kind that runs all the pulleys at the same time.

Check engine light won't go out on my plymouth

You need the scanner to turn the light off.Your pcm is throwing an engine code. When you do turn it off it will probably come back on until you fix the problem. Most shops will scan it for free. They can tell you what is wrong.
