93 vw eurovan won't start

Acquired a 93 eurovan and trying to get it running. It turns over, you can hear the fuel pump and you can smell the fuel. I have no spart at the plugs. I tested the coil and it ohms out fine. Could it be the hall effect switch?

On a Vehicle this Age..there is a good chance the Catalytic converter is clogged..there only one way to eliminate this..cut it out..if the car starts..then im your Guy..if not..weld it back..and make sure the Gas is pure(no water) then proceed to check all ingnition components..its a little more work..but thats the cheapest route...I think..it worked for me..Good luck..

if its kknocking thats not a good sign thats usually a motor rebuild but if its a tap then it could be a lifter or something loose under the valve cover ive had the tapping noise and knocking happen to me tapping on a 67 chevy truck turns out it was the lifters then knocking in a 92 honda accord turns out it was a bent rod so it had to have the motor rebuilt as far as power loss it may have a clog in a fuel line or something shouldnt be the pump unless the vehicle doesnt start or it shuts off while driving, and the smell of gas on the oil dipstick im not to familiar with that but im positive that thats not good;

93 Jimmy with 4.3 vortec, Won't start, no spark. Changed cap, rotor, coil and ignition module. What would be the problem.

Have you checked your fuel pressure? Can you hear your fuel pump buzzing. Remove your gas cap and have a helper turn the key to the run position while you have your ear close to the open tank. If you don't hear anything you have a fuel related issue. Even if you hear the pump buzzing you need to check the fuel pressure as it may not be making enough pressure. If no buzz you may have a bad fuel pump, pump relay, or wiring problem to the pump. That is where I would start.

Diagnosing and replacing fuel pump on 2002 Eurovan

Every time you open your drivers door you hear a buzzing sound under the car. That sound is from a working fuel pump priming fuel before you even enter the bus, anticipating a system start up. If you don't here it then it must have seized. More often it happens during early morning or when it sat for quite some time. You can also operate the fuel pump manually by using a jumper wire to the relay. The relay number could be 67, 80 or 167. I wouldn't recommend this if you have minimal experience working on fuel systems, it's very dangerous. It will spark if done incorrectly and set off a fire.

T4 5 cyl engine not starting.

sounds more like a relay fault check the fuel pump relay numbered 196 i think ot 164 you should hear pump run for a few seconds when you turn the key on if you hear pump running you may have a crank sensor fault
