1993 GMC Sierra with bucket seats Seatback flops forward and back

This an extended cab and the passenger side is the worst. I thank there may have been a recall at one time.

There's probably something in the way. Get under and behind the seat with a flashlight and check the back end of the rails to see if something is there.

The 04-08 MY changed to a bottom of the seat folds up, where the 03 and older where the seat back folded down.

Do you need to remove the seat back ?

take a pair of needle noe pliers and spread the hog rings out till they come off one at a time all the way around the bottom of the cover

most common issue is the belt got twisted. You have to remove the cover and keep the lock from engauging...

check the wire underneath the seat and be sure it's not too tight preventing the latching mech on the other side from slipping into the detent.

Rear seat


The seat bottom needs to be moved first. There should be a pull strap between the seat back and seat bottom. Pull up on these two straps and then on the seatback on the side .... is a lever which needs to be pushed upward while pulling forward on the seat. Hope this helps.
