Now i replace the ignition cylinder but i steel kent starer on my chevrolet 1987 s10 pickup

    That's because the cylinder dosen't start the car, the switch below on the top of the column does that. (also neutral safety switch)

Check power on large yellow wire from ignition swith while turning key to start possition,this is the wire that powers the solenoid to starter.also may try tapping on starter with hammer while someone is trying to start.If starts while performing tap method you will need a starter. If no power to yellow wire at ign switch while starting will need electrical part of ignition.

The coil should be on the top of the intake manifold. I would be willing to bet the reason you have a weak spark on only one cylinder and no others is because the distributor may have a broken gear on the bottom of it not allowing the distributor to turn and supply spark to the other cylinders.

I have 1987 s10 pu 2.8 it will turn over but will not start have replaced coil,rotor button ,cap,plugsand wires


Have you checked it for spark. I would say if you have no spark that you have a bad ignition module.

you need to replace the electrical part of switch?If os it is down on column under dash will be two bolts holding on with the dimmer switch also

Slow down, don't start tearing down the engine just yet. Error 74 is: P0074 Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Intermittent.
