You need a tech 1 scanner.....it will autiomatically cycle the selenpoids in your abs system to "autobleed" the air from the lines back to the master cylinder.

If you can check an older GM dealer for the right scanner...a tech 2 will not work.

No. there is no way to get the air out of the lines unless you bleed them the right way. forward or reverse, your still pressing on the brakes which in turn pushes the fluid and air towards the tires

Brakes will not bleed, air in lines, not getting fluid to brakes

check the brake booster a lot of times they will leak on the inside of the firewall and run down under the carpet inseide look under the dash where the brake pedal rod goes thru the fire wall and see if there is and brake fluid coming thru
to bleed brakes by myself i use a bottle of brake fluid and get a hose the size of the bleeder on the brakes and put the hose over it and put the other end in the brake fluid open the bleader a little and pump the brakes air goes out and it will pull the fluid back in

How to bleed brakes on 1997 mecury sable

There are videos online like youtube.com or do a yahoo search on bleeding brakes. Normally you can find a bleed kit at your local auto parts store or you can use some rubber tubing and a jar. Plus, a friend that can pump the brakes for you when you are holding the tube to bleed the brakes. Make sure you have some brake fluid that you can use.

Bleed brakes bleeder

I do believe you have to put your truck on a scanner to bleed the brakes properly. I have done it a few times to get the pedal back up. After some one else has worked on them. Usually it's because the ABS pump was run dry. But check for fluid around the brake booster, it will be wet and eating the paint off it. Replace the master cylinder first. Bleed, and if you still have the problem. Get it on a scanner.

Changed both front (rears are drums and did not change) brake calibers and pads on my 1998 F150 pickup 2 wheel drive. In doing so I let the master cylinder go empty. How do I bleed the brakes now. I have...

your probably going to have to bleed the entire system.1st try & bleed the master cyl.
basicly the same as you would bleed the front/rear brakes. pump pedal & hold while someone
loosen the brake line on the master cyl. after m/c is bleed move to r/r,l/r,r/f,l/f wheels in
that order. if you have abs brakes & you got air in the pump a scan tool may be needed
to bleed properly.

1998 Dodge Caravan New brakes. Front Axel removed to get to power steering pump to remove it. Got van back brakes felt strange had to hit them hard car pulled infront of me. ABS light came on. brakes...

Bad brake master cylinder could cause this, It will start leaking internally and not build up pressure. Will happen just do to age, will need to replace it and bleed brake system.

How do i bleed the brakes on my 1985 topaz

Do it your self way(my way) --go to your local auto parts store & get a 1-man brake bleader kit---Usually on the misc. tool display----You'll need an a aprox. 8 oz jar (clear)---FIRST-(my way) take out the blead-screws and use teflon tape on the bleed screws---tighten all bleed screws "SNUG"---Front brakes sorta easy, jack-up front of car and turn wheels-one way or the other for easy access to bleed screws, open-up left bleed screw a "FUZZ", pump the brake peddle slow/wyour head looking under the car watching the "JAR" the brake fluid and cylinder the kit is hooked-up to----from there READ-THE-DIRECTIONS-ON-THE KIT---It's easy after the first time---NITRO NELLY--

Is a computer needed to bleed brake system?

bleed the brakes the easy way is to have two peoples one to pump the brake pedal and the other one is to open the bleeder use the driver side front wheel it close to the master cylinder and you could get a brake bleeder and do it by yourself.
