Question about 2005 Dodge Caravan

1 Answer

The front AC on my 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan does not work at all.

The fan will not blow on any setiing. The rear AC works fine. At high speeds, some cool air will seep out of the front vents. How do I get to the blower motor to check it out?

Did you find a solution for this problem? My 2005 just started to do the samething friday.

  • Lkfischer Oct 05, 2012

My 2005 is doing the same. It is not the blower motor, fuses, or relays. It must be a resistor however I understand that the fan will operate only on high with a bad resistor. The resistor should be inexpensive and it sounds common.

I have a 2003 dodge caravan and the front air blows cold but the rear vents are blowing hot air what could the problem the fans are both working fine

The problem may just be with the evaporator unit found at the passenger cabin. At times you may just need some cleaning to get it working.

There may be a fault in the control group in the dash--there is a resistor that controls motor speed as well as the speed switch.

Heater fan regulation

2002 Grand Caravan. The rear heater also has a resistor for the fan speed control.(3 speed) It is located under the rear passenger side plastic cover. You can take off the rear tail gate lower plastic piece and this will let you pull out the side panel. You can reach in and take out the two screws that hold in the resistor and unhook the wiring adapter. You do not have to take off the whole side panel as you can reach in from the back. The resistor unit can be bought at you local dodge dealer.
