I Just had the same problem as of 1/6/2012 I took the inside panel off which can be done by an amatuer in about half hour, you can find a quick video on how to take it off on youtube.... Anyway just take it off slide your hand inside the door you can feel the rods i just toyed with them until the door opened, took about 5 minuets then i sprayed the mechanism from the inside with lubricant, i used PB blaster, and then sprayed it from the outside on the mechanism which the door locks in. Really easy skip the mechanic on this one not work your 300$! i would do it for twenty.... Anyway you probably just spray the **** out of it from the inside without messing around to much and im pretty sure it would open. obviously some part is getting stuck and needs to be lubed up around 60,000 and im guessing every 20000 after that hope this helps!! any questions you can email me at rabslincoln@gmail.com

Have someone from the outside pull the handle up while you pound the door from the inside. the latch became frozen from lack of lubrication. once open, spray the **** out of it with wd40 or pb blaster and work the latch till it moves freely

Front passenger door will not open 1998 Tercel

If the passenger door has not been opened for some weeks or months, or in icy weather, it is possible that the rubber seals around the door frame will cause the door to appear 'stuck' fast - in this case, a bit of extra force from inside the car whilst pulling on the interior door handle should cause the door to open. Failing that, if the car has electrically operated central locking, when the key fob is pressed to deactivate the central locking does the door lock on the passenger side work as expected? Try unlocking the passenger door with a key, and or pull the door lock button upwards to ensure that the lock has been deactivated. Check for blown fuses.

Automatic passenger door lock

You should replace power door lock at front passenger side, you can use any 'universal' power door lock. its an unit with a small motor inside that have a mechanism to up and down according electricity from the actuator (master door lock at driver side)
Hope this help :-)

Sounds like the latch is stuck in the intermediate position. the actuator or latch probably needs replaced. Go to the dealer on this one.

Chevy Impala Door lock issue

Which is it, 98 Eclipse, or 06 Impala? Either way, your door lock actuator is stuck in the locked position either electrically or mechaically. The way to check this is to remove the door panel and unplug the actuator. If door lock can now be moved then you have an electrical problem (faulty door lock switch or faulty door lock module). If you still cannot unlock door then actuator is mechanically bad and must be replace (usually the case)

Ford Escort 1998 central locking

Are you talking about the key cylinder or the electric lock button? If you are talking about the key,you need to remove the door panel and watch the lock rod move up and down. There is a plastic clip that pops open or breaks from age. If you are talking about the electric lock, will the passenger door lock move when you press the lock button on the drivers door? Does the passenger door make a grunt noise when trying to lock/unlock?
