Re: 2006 impala passenger door won't open
Have someone from the outside pull the handle up while you pound the door from the inside. the latch became frozen from lack of lubrication. once open, spray the **** out of it with wd40 or pb blaster and work the latch till it moves freely

Take out the lock and you will see the rod which slides up and down to connect to make the lock open it may be worn out have it replaced or tie a wire such as a copper wire from unused electrical wires to tighten the gap which may be lose which as a result does not catch properly to open the lock
I have this same issue,I'm told other kia's also have this issue. Friend of mmine says little pin/rod that goes from lock 2 handle needs adjusting, don't know.have body shop check it out 4 u or call kia.I'm sure they have heard of this problem. That's what i'm gonna do if I can get mine running, been down 4 about 2 wks. good luck
You should replace power door lock at front passenger side, you can use any 'universal' power door lock. its an unit with a small motor inside that have a mechanism to up and down according electricity from the actuator (master door lock at driver side)
Hope this help :-)
Which is it, 98 Eclipse, or 06 Impala? Either way, your door lock actuator is stuck in the locked position either electrically or mechaically. The way to check this is to remove the door panel and unplug the actuator. If door lock can now be moved then you have an electrical problem (faulty door lock switch or faulty door lock module). If you still cannot unlock door then actuator is mechanically bad and must be replace (usually the case)
Are you talking about the key cylinder or the electric lock button? If you are talking about the key,you need to remove the door panel and watch the lock rod move up and down. There is a plastic clip that pops open or breaks from age. If you are talking about the electric lock, will the passenger door lock move when you press the lock button on the drivers door? Does the passenger door make a grunt noise when trying to lock/unlock?
