Question about Lincoln Town Car
I had this situation too, exactly. Everybody told me it was probably a rear bumper sensor gone bad, but at least in my case, no such luck. It was the Park Assist Module, basically the control computer for the whole system. A new one fixed it, but was about $300.

I really need to know the year of the car to help, but based on my Ford dealer experience u have a defective parking assist sensor, the system can be tested at any Ford or Lincoln dealer to determine the cause with a special scanner that is a Rotunda tool
