Find the filler plug for a 2004 chrysler sebring front differrential

The Sebring is a front wheel drive car. The transmission drives the two axles directly. You only need to check your transmission fluid. There is no differential like a rear axle style unit.

How do I change the rear differential oil in my 2004 XC90 Volvo?

I have confirmed the fill plug is located on the Differential cover (rear facing) Closer to the left about half way up. Although Summit after market Differential covers has a drain plug the OEM cover does not. You will need to suction the old fluid out then add the new fluid. From what I can see the fill plug is 13mm. Capacity is .7L. Used Volvo Rear Axle Fluid (API GL-5 Low friction part #1161329). Also I read that it requires one aluminum crush washer (same size as engine oil drain plug). I don't know about reusing the origional.

How do you add transmission fluid to a 2000 town country

The tranny fluid is added through the tranny dipstick (make sure it's not the oil dipstick). Fluid color should be red and the dipstick should have instructions on how to check level (car in park, engine at idle). Funnels are your friend here.

How do you change manuel trans fluid in a 1995 toyota paseo

On the transmission underneath the car there are 2 bolts that dont hold anything onto the transmission. One is the drain plug (closest to the bottom), the other is a filler plug (usually around midway up on one side), drain all the fluid from the drain plug, then after installing the plug pump the new fluid into the filler hole until it starts to spill out, install filler plug. Easy as pie. Same procedure for front and rear differentials. Make sure you are using the manufacturer recommended fluids.

How do I change the rear and front Differential fluid?

There is a drain plug on some vehicles at the bottom side of the differential that must be removed to drain the old oil out but on others you must remove the cover which has at least ten bolts that are in a circle pattern around the differential cover. After removing the cover and draining the old oil out dry out the excess oil left inside the casing with a clean rag, scrape off any old gasket material on both the differential casing and the cover. Purchase a gasket for the cover and reinstall the cover tightening the bolts in a criss cross or X pattern not too tight . Proceed to locate the filler plug on the upper right or left side of the differential, this plug is usually removed with the square end of a 3/8" socket wrench just using the square end of the socket wrench should do it or you may need a large hex head allen wrench but usually using a short extention with the socket wrench to get the clearance to turn the square end of the extention or socket wrench inside the plug will work, some times the plug is very tight and you may need to use a 1/2' drive socket wrench with a 1/2" to 3/8" reducer or adapter to acheive the neccessary torque required to crack the filler plug free, now get a coulple of 80/90 weight gear oil quarts and cut the filler tip back a bit with a razor or utility knife and using a 3/8" length of rubber hose slide it over the end of the tip tighten a small hose clamp on to the hose to prevent it from sliding off the filler tip, then feed the end of the hose into the filler hole on the differential and invert and sqeeze the container of oil to force the oil into the differential until it fills and over flows out the filler hole, screw in the filler plug and tighten. Use this general procedure for both the front and back differentials.

GMC rear differential

There is no drain plug. You have to take cover off to drain. After it has drained, clean cover surface and housing surface, if gasget is ok not mared or broken you can reuse it with a thin layer of silacone, if its tore up to bad clean old gasget off real good and you can either get a new gasget or use silacone, and put it back on and refill it thru filler plug, and fill until it comes out filler hole, if you use silacone make sure you use enought, like a quarter to a half inch wide bead and let it set a while before you put the rearend grease back in maybe a half hour or so. That way it has enought time to set up.
