Check your timing or could be timing belt out of 1 tooth. This model of corolla does not use lifter.

SOURCE: need the cylinder head torque settings on a toyota

Tighten in several passes to 44 foot pounds.

I just wanted to add. Since this is an aluminum cylinder head, I hope you loosened the head in the loosening torque pattern. The pattern opposite of the torque tightening pattern. If not, you stand the chance of warping the head.

Again, since it's an aluminum head, it needs to be checked for flatness. Most aluminum heads need to be surfaced before re-installing.

Tightening torque pattern is as follows:

1.The Drivers side of the engine is the Left side.
From the Front going towards the back; the bolts are numbered 10, 6, 1, 3, and 7.
From the Front going towards the back on the Passenger side; the bolts are numbered 8, 4, 2, 5, and 9.

The Exhaust and Intake Camshaft Bearing Cap bolts go to 9 foot pounds. Tighten gradually. One bolt to the other with so many foot pounds, work back, and forth up to 9lbs.

Camshaft Timing Pulley bolts go to 43 foot pounds. (In a tightening sequence, and gradually)

Toyotacorolla vvti 1.3 main torque setting

The main torque setting for the Toyota Corolla VVTi 1.3 engine will depend on the specific component or fastener being tightened. It is important to refer to the manufacturer's specifications or service manual for the correct torque values to use.
Here are some general torque values for common components on the Toyota Corolla VVTi 1.3 engine:
  • Cylinder head bolts: 55 Nm (41 ft-lbs)
  • Connecting rod nuts: 40 Nm (29 ft-lbs)
  • Main bearing cap bolts: 65 Nm (48 ft-lbs)
  • Oil pump bolts: 12 Nm (9 ft-lbs)
  • Timing chain tensioner bolt: 25 Nm (18 ft-lbs)
It is important to note that these torque values are just estimates and may vary depending on the specific engine and component. Always refer to the manufacturer's specifications for the correct torque values to use.
In addition, it is important to use a torque wrench to accurately tighten fasteners to the specified torque. Using the wrong torque value or over-tightening fasteners can lead to problems such as stripped threads, damaged components, or engine failure.
I hope this helps!

Hi Please help me with torque settings on toyota corolla 2005 1.6gle

of what the whole car.?
that is in the factory service manual (FSM)
or alldata.com

which engine,? lots of 1.6l MADE BY TOY?
NOT 4AFE (ended in 2001)
state side, we had 3 engine, non are 1.6L
the 1NZ-FE 1.5L
the 1ZZ-FE and 2ZZ-FE both are 1.8L
so what country are you in, ?
find true engine name (under hood, read stickers)
and google for that, I promise you will find it.

9th generation corolla
the e120?
world wide, (not USA) they had
1.6L I4 3NZ-FE
1.6L I4 1ZR-FE
1.6L I4 3ZZ-FE

as you can see 1.6L tells nothing.
only the real name works , getting specs on any engine.
do tell.
