2004 ford taurus. Its not overheating but there is a knocking noise that starts once the car is warm. Sounds like some type of fan. Could this be the water pump even if the car is not overheating

Did you recently have a transmission fixed?
If so it sound like the drive plate bolts were not applied with Loctite.
Maybe a oil viscosity problem if not a transmission job.

I NEED TO FIND OUT WHY MY 2002 FORD TAURUS SOMETIMES HAVE A LITTLE KNOCKING NOISE UNDER THE CAR ON THE DRIVERS SIDE

First it is a 2002. If the noise happens at start up it could be lifters(tapping) or crank shaft rod bearings(knocking). Both are expensive to fix at a garage. More than the car is worth. My advice is to keep check on the oil. Start saving for another car.

If engine light is on in a ford taurus 2004 and when u turn on the car you hear a knocking sound could that be a broke spark plug

No --it will be something else. Run the fault codes to determine why the light is on. Check the oil level. have the noise diagnosed by an accredited service centre.

Knock in cold start up fo 95 Ford Taurus SE

If its a ticking noise Sounds like some sticky lifters. The heads get build up on them over the years and it takes awhile for the oil to get thin (hot) enfo to lube them. The noise is them being dry.

Grinding noise when trying to start 04 Taurus about once per 40-50 starts. had starter replaced and now grinding is worse. once per 10 starts. starts on third try.

It sounds like the gap between the starter gear and flexplate is growing. The ring gear may be worn out in spots causing the starter not to engage the (shortened) teeth of the flexplate. Or the starter is shimmed too far from the flywheel ( less likely ).

The flexplate problem will require the removal of the transmission to repair.

http://www.carpartsdiscount.com/auto/parts/2004/ford/taurus/flywheel_flexplate/flexplate.html?3593=247290

The part itself is not that expensive, however, the labor to replace will bite you

I have a 2003 ford taurus se around 111,312 miles just had oil changed and bhrakes are fine trans shifts smooth THE PROBLEM: when I first start the car some where around idle id say 1000 rpm it makes...

nothing under car to grind unless it is vibrating down the line. I would jack the car up (support with jack stands) when car is cold climb under car and have someone start it and check visual and listen to see where noise is originating from. without doing this myself im gonna guess pump in trans. But also see if there is an inspection plate to the trans between motor.possibly got bent slightly and rubs against flywheel. at least its a start of the process of elimination without hearing or seeing it myself.

Loud noise in front left tire 2004 Ford Taurus SES

You mentioned the noise was from the left (drivers side) front. The compressor is on the passenger side in association with the engine compartment. Question, once the noise starts does it continue while stopped or only while moving?
