Question about 2004 Volkswagen Beetle
2001 beetle. epc light on. car wouldn't start. charged the battery. started up, then died out. rechared battery. same problem. can't keep car running.
It sounds like your alternator is not charging. You may want to have it tested and replace/rebuild it if necessary. Many times the problem is that the brushes are worn in the alternator and it stops charging correctly. The brushes are usually attached to the voltage regulator and are replaceable if you have the parts and skill. You can also replace the voltage regulator/brush assembly as a unit.
Many parts stores will test your alternator for free.
