The computer controls the injectors, obviously the injectors are not firing. Check that the computer is powered up; if it is, then the computer is bad

98 dodge ram 1500 5.9 truck has been sitting for 2 years with a blown ****** got the ****** rebuilt and installed it back in the truck but wont start has spark and fuel at rail but injectors wont fire

98 so its a older vehicle ?? Well i know nothing about layout of this american vehicle but for its age check the fuel rail as on the end is a vacumn controlled valve so make sure its connected and the vacumn pipe isnt cracked or perished ,Anything else i have no idea sorry dont see these motors here in spain very often unless its on a imported camper van but these are normally all diesel ,have seen a 7.2 litre ford E350 petrol though but running on a gas conversion

This sounds like you may have fuel at the rails, but do you know if the injectors are opening? You can assumed that the cam position sensors are working to fire the plugs and should work the injectors. There is a light test unit which may be borrowed to insert in the injector harness to determine if each connector is firing.

The throttle position sensor may be bad. You can check the connector end of this part with an ohmmeter to see if you have resistence when the throttle is moved.

Thats all I have for now.

1999 cadillac deville no.8 cylinder service engin light is on

is #8 the first or last injector on the fuel rail ? I have heard of fuel rails getting partially plugged or not enough fuel pressure to make it to last cylinder in rail. have you pulled valve cover and watched the rockers , or cam finger followers to see if they move the same as the ones next to them, and also you might still have the miss at higher rpms but the eng balances it out and is not as noticable. check your electrical connections at injector and coil to make sure they are not spread, to where they are only making partial contact this is common problem too. is the spark plug from that cylinder any different color from the rest, example Black sooty, clean, wet, white ,etc; could be lots of things, cam lobe, coolant leak in that cyl.,elect.con.,ecm,bad grd. wire to coil, spread terminal, sounds like you are on the right track, keep plugging along you will find it. good luck

I have a 97 s10 just swaped 2.2 motors both ran going in to the shop now it cranks and i have spark and fuel going to the rail but wont start if you spray starting fuild it starts on it then dies

If you have fuel at the rail, and a spark, then your problem is either a clogged fuel rail or clogged injectors. Try cleaning or replacing the fuel rail first, then the injectors if that doesn't work.

I have a 95 oldsmobile 3.1 v6 that i just replaced fuel filter and pump but now wont start its getting fuel at the rail bleader

Was it dead before you replaced the pump? If so then check for spark. Just because the pump is new and you are getting fuel to the rail doesn't mean it's at the correct pressure. Check the pressure and also check for injector pulse at the injector harness connector. You can do this with a "noid light" (Harbour Frieght under $10). Let me know what you find.

After removing the fuel injectors and rail to remove the manifold, how do you reinstall the fuel injectors?

the same way you took it apart. put a little grease around the rubber seals so they will slide in easier. just tap on the fuel rail while lightly tapping it into place.

I have a 1995 impala ss with lt1 motor it wont start i changed the cap&rotor, starter, ingnition modulator, fuel filter and it still wont start

First thing I'd check is the optispark sub harness. Check both connections, the one by the optispark and the one on the passenger side of the intake manifold. Disconnect both sides and check for corrosion. This is a known weak spot on these motors.

If that checks out your going to want to start with the basics. Do you have spark and fuel? Pull the spark plug wire for a cylinder and using a spark tester test for spark while cranking. You want to have a nice blue spark. If you have good spark check for fuel pressure by hooking up a fuel pressure gauge to the shrader valve on the fuel rail. It should be in the high 40s - low 50s. If you have fuel also, check to make sure the injectors are getting a pulse using a noid light.
