I had the same problem with mine about a month and a half ago with my 2004 sentra 1.8L manual. I was trying to figure it out for about a year before that and finally found out it's only a 50 dollar part (100 dollars from the dealer) that takes under ten minutes to change.,carcode,1429589,parttype,4936

That is the link from the place I ordered it from and it's working now. The location is behind the driver side rear tire, there is a little black box / cover that should pop off. It's held up by two little plastic clips. If you click "more info" the link you will see a picture of the part and once that black cover is off it's right there. All you do is pull off the hose connected to it and pop it out of the socket it's in. Kind of hard to explain without showing you so hopefully this helped.
You can always just check that black cover and look under there before ordering anything just to make sure. The piece acts as a switch to let pressure out of your fuel tank. I looked in mine and the metal spring was rusted. You can try cleaning it out with WD40 and whatever else you have available but it won't last too long. I did mine when there was snow out and the salt and snow and water gets in there pretty easily.
Well, good luck.

With your's, it could be a plugged vent tube, but i can telll you that my 05 Mustang does the same thing, as do they all. The trick is to turn the gas pump filler completely upside down. Works like a charm, but everybody thinks you're some kind of a crack head.

I have a 2004 Freestar and we are having trouble putting gas in cause it spits it back out when we put it in fast.

run the fault codes and look for an EVAP problem not venting the tank
reduce the fuel flow from the station pump by not opening the trigger so much
turn the nozzle around in the inlet tube so that the fuel doesn't switch the nozzle off

Sometimes gas pumps vary as to how fast they pump. Try pulling the nozzle out just a little bit to let the fill hose vent.

Can not put gas in tank. it spills back out when filling. What is a quick fix for a month or so till son gets home with it

Sounds to me as if the pump is not being inserted into the tank far enough which will cause spillage. Always insert the pump until the rings on the nozzle of the pump touch the base of the opening of your gas "hole".

I have a 2002 nissan sentra SRE 2.5 engine i am having problem with idle going to fast i replaced erg, electronic throttle it helped a little but problem came back. if i take my foot of the gas it keeps...

You could have anything from a vacuum leak, idle speed solenoid, TPS. Get the ECM scanned, emissions test, by a second reputable tech. If u get the same answer (which I doubt) then go to the dealer. Or go straight to the dealer, Whichever is best for u. Good luck

When i pump gas the pump shuts off and gas spits right back out onto the ground like it is full but its on e..

there is a check ball in the fuel tube that leads to the tank if that is stuck you will not be able to fill it up, i have seen some people sneak a metal coat hanger in there to hold it open to see if that help them out.

My 2008 nissan sentra ran out of gas and now wont start. Can I just put gas in and expect it to start or is something else messed up with computer possibly??

It will take it a little bit to get fuel pumped back up to the engine. When you run out of gas you have a lot of fuel line to fill up before gas ever gets back up to the intake.

It is likely that the screen inside is plugged with something, After gas runs down again, You can pull the feeder tube off and clean the screen.

Wont pump more than $1.00 at a time and then kick off

Vent purge valve it allows for air to escape while you are filling up .Part cost about 90.00 easy fix located rear drivers side behind plastic shield pop off shield then with pliers squeeze clamps holding valve off hose connection and replace [[remember direction valve came off ]].You can get a printout of where it is located and how to do this from the dealer .This part is most likely a dealer item .Very easy to do. A repair shop wanted 150.00 for the part and another 100.00 to put it on. Idid it in about 15 minutes total
