Question about 2003 Mazda Protege

1 Answer

Rear stabilizer bar bushings

I have the "protege knock" apparently from the rear stabilizer bar bushings of my Mazda Protege 2001. I'm going to order new ones. Is this a dealer product only? I'm in Mexico where the cobblestones tear the suspension apart. Is there anything else I should attend to on the front or rear suspension while I'm at it? I've replaced the front shocks. The back shocks seem to be okay. Thanks in advance. ...Paul

I have a 1998 Mazda Protege and when the headlights are on all lights work including the rear tail lights. When I press the break pedal the 2 rear lights go out completely except for the center (window)...

It is very likely that you have a bad break switch. It is usually located on a bracket right behind the brake pedal bar. A new switch is generally $30 to $45, and only takes a couple of minutes to change.

I hope this helps.

Radio Speakers

Its possible that some wires are loose, considering both rear speakers are not working and not just one. Your best bet is to check for any loose wires behind the front deck or behind the rear speakers.
