Question about 1997 Mitsubishi 3000GT
Im having major problems getting the alternator out of my 3000 gt. it wont fit coming out the d/s wheel well, and i cant see it coming out the top. im trying to avoid pulling the connecting rod. do you have any advice for me? whoever designed this car is an idiot!!!!
Manual says to remove the radiator but if you remove the bolts holding the radiator and push it out of the way it is possible to remove the alternator through the top but it takes some work to wiggle it out.

Undo the two bolts holding the alternator bracket on the block and remove the bracket. Then remove the two brackets marked L and R holding the top of the radiator in place. Pull the radiator forward (moves about two inches, and turn the alternator up as you remover it. It will come out of the top, you just have to wangle and turn it through the space where the block bracket was. Good luck.
