Fuel sensor I have a 2009 Suzuki SX4 and while driving to work this morning the cruise control turned itself off and the check engine light came on. I stopped at AutoZone to have them run a diagnostic test on it and it came back with the code P2096 and listed several possible reasons. 1. Leaking fuel injector or fuel pressure, 2. Faulty MAF sensor, 3. High fuel pressure, and 4. Failed H02S....my question is, out of those which one would most likely be the problem and would cause the cruise control not to set???

Most of the time this is caused by a bad brake switch. If the switch is shorting out, then it will cause the computer to think that the brakes are being applied, which turns off the cruise control. If the switch is fine, then it may have a bad speed sensor or the cruise control switch itself is bad.

O2 sensor allows ECM to fine tune fuel/air mixture going into the engine.
No O2 sensor will put ECM into "closed loop" mode and use a lot more fuel.

Check engine lamp Glowing while running the engine,
no year SX4 told. nor the engine there.
but CRUISE now (modern designed) is disabled. when CEL glows.
that way CRUISE can not go mad and cause car to wreck, see how that works.?
engine throttle fails!
transmission fails!
and more. brakes lamps dead (all)and more too.
the users guide I guess lost now, told you
CEL on, means get the car serviced in real shop
or buy the scan tool and scan it at the failure.

its on all cars, that have it , close to the combustion, area.
its just a microphone (sonic) on side of the engine block.
Varies by actual engine in car, there can be many.

it hears KNOCK, (aka. ping, or detonation , all very bad)
if you get DCT fo this (you failed to post the actual number.)
not posting the number makes for big time failure for any helper.
1: wires fell off sensor
2: sensor hit by road flying objects and its damaged.
3: horrid KNOCK, is it? knocking bad?
4: horrid mechanical damage making, clanking sounds, rod bearing going out, or? piston cracks or breaking up.

it's a microphone.
its either dead or intermitant, or hears something very wrong.

have the vehicle scanned for trouble codes[s] and when you have check engine codes remote start and some vehicles cruise will not work

We have had similar problems with 2007 SX4 for 18 months - engine light on intermittently, sometimes days, sometimes weeks, cruise control disabled when light is on. Suzuki dealer has replaced O2 sensors twice, suggested catalytic converter needs replacement ($1200) but was not certain of cause or remedy. Finally dealer has removed fuel tank and fuel pump to reveal dirty fuel filter. Dealer states dirty fuel as cause which is not their problem as they cannot control fuel quality. Dealer wants $1200 to replace pump but no guarantee it won't occur again with first new tank of fuel! Could make for very expensive driving.

maybe the sensor is faulty, only having 17k miles on it i'm guessing that is what it is, get it looked at or changed

The solution is that when the oil filter is removed, oil gets on the O2 sensor and ruins it. Must cover the O2 and that keeps the oil off. To keep the check engine light off, is to replaced the O2 sensor. Problem solve. Later on sx4's they move the O2 in a different spot. I work on Suzuki cars. Don
