I had the same problem and now they all work . well your motor works and theres a hard plastic inside the motor that holds it from skipping and its broken now . what you need to do is open the motor and clean it, then you got to fill it with some kind of glue i prefer the 5 minute glue from checkers and all purpose glue 1500 to 3000 psi. verry cheap and long labor but its worth it

You need a new regulator, or the gears in the motor could be stripped.

If you can pull the window up by hand and can hear the motor running the three plastic pins inside the motor head have broken. You can buy new parts to fix it or pull the triangle shaped piece off the gear shaft and clean out all of the little pieces of broken plastic. Then fill inside the gear with thick epoxy and press the triangle shaped piece onto the shaft into the epoxy before it dries. The epoxy replaces the three plastic pins that have crumbled.

I regularly spray silicon spray on the window guides to fix this problem. It is clear and very slippery.

Door window not working

If you can move the window up and down with your hand then you need to replace the power window regulator. If you try to roll the window down and you dont hear the motor running you need to replace the motor as well. Its an easy job it just takes a lil bit. Good luck!

Drivers side window will not go up, I think it's the motor. 202 mitsubishi galant 4 door

If u switch the WiNDOW and u hear some buzzing inside the door, means the motor is still working! Mostly the part easily get broken is the WiNDOW REGULATOR assembly! You could buy and replace the regulator only w/o the motor! Before putting a new regulator add some GREASE on the cable link and the plastic guide!

I bought a 1994 ford mustang v 6 and the power windows dont work you press the button and i hear a noise then i have to press down or pull up to get the windows up or down and the power seat doesnt work...

Two unrelated problems. If you can hear the window motor running, but you have to manually pull the window up or down, it needs a window regulator. Check the fuse for the power seat. If its good, you can the connector at the motor under the seat to see if its getting power.

Window will not roll up or down

Two possible problems. Defective motor or window regulator. Remove the door panel, you will see three star screws holding in the motor. Remove the motor, remove the plate, one screw, inside the motor you should see three plastic plugs, these get old and turn to powder, to replace these you can purchase these from any automotive store for around $8.50. But I would replace these with ball bearings cost.64 each. Now you will see some aluminum plugs with rivits holding in the window regulator. To remove these you nweed to punch out the rivits, and drill out the aluminum using 1/4 drill bit. Replace these with 1/4 inch bolts and nuts. Pack the motor with wheel bearing grease and grease the window regulator. You may want to consider replacing all the regulators and checking all the motors. If one has gone bad the others will follow. Just rweplaced all 4 on my old 1996 mercury. Order the regulators on line much cheaper.

Driver side power window won't work

You have either a defective window motor or a defective window regulator. To fix this, first you need to remove the door panel. By using a screw driver pop out the control, then pop out the plastic insert where the door handle is located. Peel down the water bearer you will see three star screws, emove these which holds in the window motor. Take the motor apart, should be one or two screws holding the motor together, you will see three plastic plugs, you can purchase new ones at any auto store for around $9.00 or three ball bearings, at any hardware store for .64 cents each. You will se aluminum plugs holding in the window regulator. Using a punch punch out the rivits, using a 1/4 inch drill bit, drill out the aluminum holding the regulators, replace these with 1/4 inch bolts and lock nuts. When you remove the window motor make sure you pack it with plenty of wheel bearing grease, and grease the regulator with wheel bearing grease, reasemble, then glue the water back in place. Test the window motor and regulator before replacing the door panel. Will take you about 4 hours. Advice. If one window is going bak the others will follow. Purchase the regulators on line for around $20, vs $60 at any auto place. Good luck.

Schematic diagram for power window installation on regular window door ,and tools and parts needed.

Dont know if one exists. But to fix the problem, you need to remove the door panel, remove the window motor, take it apart and check the plastic plugs in the motor, if they are defecticve replace with wheel bearings and pack with wheel grease. To remove the window regulator, you will need a hammer a punch, a1/4 inch drill bit a drill. You punch out the rivits, drill out the aluminum, you replace these with 1/4 screws and locking bolts. Also grease the area where the window regulator moves up and down. Replacing the plastic plugs with ball bearings and packing with plenty of grease, you willl never have a problem with the motor ever again.

Installing new power window motor on a 1980 Corvette. Having some problems. Where does the window regulator need be for you install new motor? all the way up,down, middle etc. Need some tips not working...

You will need to roll the window down approx half way and you can either feel with your finger or get a small mirror to place in the door. You are looking for a hole in the regulator gear that will align with a hole in the main section of the regulator that bolts to the door. Once these are aligned you need to install a bolt through them and tighten it down. This will keep the regulator from moving when you remove the motor. Do not skip this step! If you remove the motor without this step you hurt yourself or even put a hole through your door. After you have the bolt in place you can remove the three bolts that hold the motor to the regulator.
