The problem is the starter, doesn't matter what that guy told you, the starter is the problem and should be replaced.

SOURCE: alarm remote

Look under the driver side seat for a small black box. This is the control for the remote/alarm system. Check to see that it is not wet. Open it up & inspect the circuit board. Are any of the circuits corroded/greenish powder on them? If so, you need to replace this box. Quite a common failure. But, there IS hope. You CAN start the car without the aid of the remote since you lost it. Put the key in the ignition, and, if the lights start flashing, CYCLE the key on-off 5 times. This action will defeat the alarm, and the car will start. This is provided in case the battery in the remote goes dead on you.

sounds to me that you have an igniton problem not a starter problem and or if you have or had an alarm system could be cause if u do give me feedback and i will explain but seems that your starter is fine from what u say but if you think in terms of the elemts to start a vehicle batery gives pwoer to ignition which sends to starter which gives spark etc i would check you ignition system something is causeing a short and not alowing starter to function

SOURCE: 1997 Toyota Camry won't start

The starter has two L-shape copper plates. These copper plates get used every time you start the car. After certain period of time the plates are so thin that no contact is made. So the car doesn't start. So your copper plates could be worn out. I had my replaced. And the problem is gone. If you know a good mechanic, you'll probably get fix for less than $100.

It's a common problem on Camry. They wear out prematurely.

SOURCE: my 4runner wont start. it clicks once but wont

You will need a meter or a test light to check the starter. You will have a big wire cable going from the battery to the starter that always has 12 volts positve at it. The smaller wire will have 12 positive when the ignition key is turned to "start." If you have both of these at the starter, your starter is bad.

Battery ,starter motor are good.car starts after a few tries,it clicks once I try again till it starts its getting worse can it be ignition

You have a bad starter, the solenoid and the starter drive are both going bad don't look for other problems until you fix the starter. I hope this helps. Take Care.

Will not start, battery is new, it just clicks and nothing. turn it off, try again and nothing, try again and it starts

Try cleaning and tightening well the battery connections along with the battery wires to the solenoid and starter motor.

Bad connections and low voltage of 12 volts can result in this anomaly.

2005 sts wont start or turn motor got new battery and try to start and kills the whole power

It sound like you have a bad ground, what will happen if this is the case is you put you key in the ignition and turn to run "not starting the engine" and everything is on and bright, when you try to turn the engine over it will click once "just when the key hits the start position" and everything will shut off lights and all. if you take the key out and do it again it will produce the same results.

Try to turn the ruck on and it just clicks once on the starter solenoid, what should i do?

hi you can try a simple trick , get a friend to turn the ignition on as if to start the motor, with a small hammer or long bar, tap the starter motor this should release the solenoid and the vehicle should turn over, make sure you are not near any moving parts when it does start, if then you turn the motor off, and try to start it again with the key as normal and it does not start, but will start with hitting it again, you need a new or reconditioned starter motor as this one is worn and needs replacing...hope this helps

Turn ignition key and motor starts up, next day turn ignition key and motor just turns over and wont start. could it be anti theft problem its a 2002 f150 4 wheel drive with 4.6 liter

This could be caused by either a faulty Crank Shaft Position Sensor or the anti-theft system. Try put key in, turn to ON position for EXACTLY 10 minutes, As SOON as anti-theft light shuts off or stops flashing, then IMMEDIATELY start the engine.

Volvo 2.0 S40cd 1996 . Battery not flat but won't start , ignition lights flashing , engine won't turn over . Lights ok and central locking ok . tried to jump start from another vehicle but no effect .

hi, the problem you are having sounds like the starter motor has packed up if when you turn the key you get nothing or you might even hear a faint click, if you open the bonnet then get someone to turn the key you might hear a faint click coming from the starter motor. This click indicates the starter motor needs replacing.

you could try hitting the starter motor with a hammer give it a few good hard hits this might get the starter motor working for a while if not then it needs replacing at once if it works then this isnt a permanent fix so be warned.

Let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

Engine cut off and cant start

If the fuse blew at once, then you have an electrical short. Try disconnecting power lead to start, cover with insulating tape/electrical tape, put new fuse in place, and attempt to "start". if fuse does not blow then the starter motor has an internal fault, replace starter and enjoy. Keep me posted as you perform these tests.

95 F150 wont crank

the starter should be replaced. The solenoid is kikcing the pinion out but there is no contact being made to turn the starter motor. I have the exact same truck and before i changed the starter used the old starter tap trick. Tap the starter casing with a hammer and it should start turning again. hope this was helpful for you. Good luck.
