Question about 1998 Jeep Cherokee

1998 jeep cherokee limited hesitates with a constant put-put back-fire. new spark plugs and cables double checked plugs and cables for good connection... any suggestions.. also I was not able to find the fule filter on the same vehicle... is it inside the tank?

Usually along the frame rail driver side somtimes under the hood

Check engine light is on - #2 cylinder misfires

id say no:2 cylinder isnt firing rite, maybe due to a faulty ignition lead or spark plug. id say get new spark plugs.

No spark?


well more questions then answers but a step closer.. good fuel pressure? check the throttle body when someone turns it over. did you try starter fluid ( put on the air cleaner for it, so it dont back fire) anyway if it runs on starting fluid then its fuel delivery system. . Basics three things to run. air, fuel, spark. you have all of these? in good supply? then look to compression and condition of dist. cap and rotor.

SPARK PLUG TORQUE


Torque for the spark plugs is 27 ft-lbs
Firing order is 1-5-3-6-2-4
