The fuel selector shifts the curcuitry to read the fuel and turn on the pump. if there is a auxullary harnes like a y, you nest jus upplug it and leave the main harness to the main tank,. If you cit wires you wull have problems undoing the changes.

better yet, consider leaving the selector valve in place and connected. Just cap off the second tank fitting at the valve

After replacing in tank fuel pump & sendind unit, in line fuel filter, truck still not getting gas

Your ecu is most likely the problem if it is bad it wont send power to the fuel pump. You can check it by turning on the ignition then listen for noise coming from fuel tank. You should be able to hear the fuel pump come on.

Gas display is burnt out

Need more information......Do you mean the fuel gauge doesnt work ?...If it is actually burnt out the instrument cluster is burnt in one spot.....this is the first step in the process of complete gauge is normally the first to go...sometimes it will be the only gauge to not work....
Although if the gauge isnt working the in tank float is stuck and or fuel sending unit has failed.First make sure it has fuel in it (put in 2 gallons)...You dont want to put very much in because if it is the float you will have to remove tank.
It is best to replace the complete fuel sending unit rather than just the float...mainly because one can make the other go bad...also for some models you cant purchase the float only.........It would save you money to have the PCM scanned for fuel delivery system.this will tell you where fault is.
If you can visually see a burn place at the gauge the cluster has failed.

My dodge will not read the fuel level. I have had the car worked on for this problem and it still isnt working. The mechanic said the dealership would have to fix something else for the problem to be...

You didn't mention what your mechanic "worked on," but this problem is usually due to a failure of the float/sending unit that's located inside the fuel tank. Replacing the float assembly requires dropping or removing the fuel tank, so many mechanics shy away from it.

2008 crown/vic police, feul guage reads empty, have jumped at tank harness black/orange to yellow/white still reads empty

either a fuse on the fuse block is faulty (not likley if other gages are working),,,,,of the gage itself needs replacing....also the sendind unit at the tanks might be bad bad and not responding to the jumpering.

1999 Honda accord coupe stalling randomly

this is your ignition switch failing. Typical symtoms when stalling, speedometer and tach dropping to zero(while in motion), some warning lights not lit, power failure. The internal contacts are shorting due to poor design and engineering. This causes vital engine/vehicle electrical failure, causing the stalling(happens more often in hotter/humid weather). There is a recall in place for this in 2002, over 1.5Million vehicles from 97-02 Honda2.gif/Acura models affected. Owners were notified in 2002!! If your vehicle is part of this recall, honda may repair for free. Call your local honda dealer with your VIN# at hand, they will give info on this recall and may repair for free. Otherwise the switch cost about $45-$95. hopefully this helps...please rate...thanks

Front fuel tank will not work

You have duel tanks with a fuel pump in each tank. You also have a fuel pump on the frame rail after the "tank selector". This device only holds a fuel filter that protects the main fuel pump. When you select front or rear tank on the dash, you are selecting which in tank fuel pump will operate. You can check the in tank fuel pump by listening for it to "humm" when the key is turned on..The in tank pumps only feed the main pump and cannot run the engine on their own. Hope this helps

Fuel Tanks reversed , Gauge not reading?

The Ford trucks were recalled for the tank switch replacement. Somehow the switches would pump fuel from one tank to the other. This would cause the one tank to overflow and or result in a fire from hot exhaust temps coming into contact with the fuel. Check the dash tank switch. It is probably bad.

Truck turns over but won't start

do you have fuel going to carb if not on the driver side door rocker panel or under carpet you have the wires for fuel pump they do break there or on the sendind unit on top of gas tank wires will sometimes break
