Please have the bulbs and wiring checked then if all are ok! the problem would be either the swtch or the flasher unit!!!!!!!

There are 2 flashers for this car. 1 is for the hazard lights, located at the fuse panel. the other is located by the steering column up by the fire wall This is for the turn signals.

1997 mercury cougar turn signals work but hazard light will not come on.what could be the problem?

IN YOUR FUSE PANEL THERE ARE SEPERATE FLASHERS FOR YOUR HAZARD LIGHTS AND YOUR TURNS SIGNALS. I WOULD CHECK OUT YOUR FUSE PANEL. IT COULD BE POSSIBLE THAT YOUR FUSE IS BLOWN.

1999 Mercury Cougar 2.5L initially blower motor died, hazard lights stopped working, ran great, but now will not shift out of park.

this sounds like you should be keeping up with checking fuses with a test light on both sides of the fuse, the inter lock solenoid on the shift cable is not powering up,check your brake switch.

Turn signals and hazard light stop working inside and out of car,

Try this easy check. Press the hazard switch on and off about 20-30 times and see is it all starts working again. The contacs in the switch assembly get dirty and this will help clean them up from non use. Worth a try.
