Its a common problem with the Ford CD mechanism. Unfortunately, it's likely broken. If it is a five disc, try disconnecting the power to the head unit by pulling the associated fuse for about 15 minutes. This may reboot the cd mechanism. Its a long shot but has worked for some.

Cd player error

so is this a stock RAD/cd?
stock JBL 6 disk player in dash>? or? what? name and model #
mp3 and wma format. but not DVD
or
JBL premium 4-disc in-dash CD changer
io the single disc player, 3 kinds sold. new.

and now comes the big question.
TELLS where you got the disk, or name it, or tell how it was made if home made. we dont know that.

is said CD a CDDA? or not. (always try CDDA first)
is CD a real music disc. from a real store, CDDA, is that.
or CDR, or DVDr, or CDRW, or other record-able media
is music MP3? files.
see, the old units dont play modern media.

try 2 real discs, not scratched.
do they play?
one other way, is to name the radio, brand, like JBL then get the
p/n off it. (hard) then look up the product data sheet on it,
bingo, what it can and can not do is there.

but this does it all, mostly
does what yours will not do.

Just bought a 2002 exlorer. can't load cd's into cd player. reads cd error

I have found that any "burned" discs will not be read on older cd/radio combinations. The newer sets will tell you on the box what formats can be read...I also found this to be true on dvd players

2007 toyota camry cd player reading error 1

I had the error code no. 1 in my 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid. It has the CD radio unit with JBL system. It will not eject the CD, or play it. I removed the entire radio/CD unit and replaced it with a used excellent unit bought off of ebay for $100, and the replacement works fine. However the replacement is also 7 years old. Therefore I would not be surprised if it failed again. Prior to the error 1 I had intermittent error 3 codes, which had the same effect: no playing of the CD, unable to eject, and unable to insert other CDs. Sometimes the error codes would go away, and the function would be normal. But once it started, I think it was on a downhill path. A new replacement is nearly $2000. Used are about $100 to $200 or more depending on the seller and condition of the unit. Youtube has videos on how to replace the unit which only requires simple tools: it is not difficult but takes about 45 minutes to an hour. If you do it you have to put the car in gear to move the gear shift gate, which requires the car to be on, so you should have the parking brake on for safety. One alternative is to send your unit to a repair company but that might cost more than simply replacing the unit. Good luck!

CD WILL NOT LOAD SAYS NO DISC IN PLAYER

You listed this in the auto section, so I'm not sure just where you have the problem. When you receive an error like this and you've tried several disks with the same result it means your CD player is bad and must be replaced.

I HAVE A 2002 MUSTANG GT. THE CD PLAYER IS MESSING UP AND HAS BEEN FOR A WHILE NOW. IT KEEPS TELLING ME CD ERROR AS SOON AS IT IS STARTED. IF I PUSH THE LOAD BUTTON IT TELLS ME ALL THE SLOTS ARE FULL, BUT...

Sound like the cd player itself has the issue. It will have a small sensor in the player to tell the user if all the slots are full with cd's or not. thats either gummed up or blocked from doing its proper job. as far as the cd error goes, thats your laser. If its still the stock 6 disc cd changer, its a good time for you to concider changing out that cd deck.
good luck bro

My cd player is sayin disc error everytime i put a disc in it

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am kelly
First try using a cleaning system CD to make sure the laser window is clean and to see if it will snap out of the current symptom.. You will get this error when either infra red eye of the laser quits, the ribbon from the laser head to the electronic PCB fails or the PCB itself fails. Most of the time it is either the Laser or the ribbon that fails. The bottom line is this: "Unless cleaning it makes it work.... your going to be shopping for a new CD player because the cost to repair it is nearly equal to the total replacement cost."

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

The cd player on my 2002 gmc envoy reads 'player error'. How can it be fixed?

purchase an optical disc cleaner disc and put it in your cd player and let it play through and then try a cd. make sure your cds are clean, smudge and not deep scratches. toothpaste makes a good cd cleaner for scratched discs. make sure to use soft cloth

I have an Error code 20 on my cd player in my 1995 Cutlass Supreme, i just bought the car and it has no book. help!

CD Errors
· E20 or CHECK CD : Cause(s): The CD player cannot focus on the disc or there is an internal focus problem. Correction(s): Try cleaning the disc or using a new disc. Make sure the disc is loaded correctly. The road could be too rough or there is too much humidity.

If your player is an AC Delco giving you the e20 error and only on your burnt discs the lens is probably not shot. It's just very dirty and can only read professional grade CDs. The remedy is to open the CD player and clean the disc with 70% Isopropyl Alcohol.

You will need a small adjustable wrench or ratchet set as well as a T-7 torx bit. You only need to remove the bottom of the player and the front piece in order to get to the CD player inside. Unscrewing other screws will just lead to having to more to reassemble. Once you get to the heart of the CD player you will need to release it by unscrewing the torx screws and then turning the player over and you will see the lens. Put some alcohol on a q tip and gently rub the lens a few times. then reverse all disassembly and put the player back together.

When you reinstall the CD player it should play all of your CDs

ALSO be sure to disconnect the negative in the battery before removing any electric devices to prevent short circuiting. And only reconnect it after you have reinstalled the CD player.
