I have to pump the gas alot to start my 2005 pt cruiser

You may not believe what I am going to say, but pumping the gas pedal does nothing to make the engine start.
The throttle position sensor does not start sending a signal to the computer until after the engine starts.
However, cranking the engine for an extended period of time could have an effect. If the fuel pressure is low, cranking the engine would build it back up to normal.
I would suggest you have the fuel pressure checked before and after the first attempt of the day. The car would need to sit overnight for the first test.

99 neon: random misfire-error code 43-runs choppy-poor gas mileage

No Engine I know of has a 1,2,3,4, fitting I am sure you have the firing order connected wrong, plus your description point to the firing order as well. Cheers, Malcolm Campbell.

2005 pt cruiser stopped running and either the engine or oil light came on, what could cause this?

On newer vehicles, if the engine loses oil pressure, it will shut off to prevent catastrophic damage caused by oil starvation. Check your oil level. If it's good, it could be your oil pump. Good luck.

Engine starves for fuel after running about 50 miles or so...

Has Neon do same, I ran fuel at low level, on hot day, ran engine until it started to act up & threw a fuel pressure gauge on it. Was at approx 5 psi. Cold next morning, 48-50 psi. Always hot day about 30-40 miles into work in morning, o.k. Sit in hot sun all day & would happen 3-4 times on way home. Sit and let cool, 20 minutes or so & go again for a while. Cool day, no problem. Change pump I would.
