Sounds like an after martket alarm issue, find the valet switch and press it while turning the key from off to the run position, release the valet switch and everything will likely work fine.

With all of the electrical feautres on these and simlar cars, they need to be driven frequently to keep the battery charged.

  • Check if the battery terminal is fix and it is not loose.
  • Also check the alternator if still in good condition and also check the distribution cap and the hi tension wires.

2004 Nissan Sentra SE-R cranks but won't start!

It is not a problem of sensor as it is not showing any dashboard light, neither it seems to be a problem of battery as battery gets charged after driving if the alternator is working fine or otherwise it won't start at all after overnight standing. It could be a problem of starter solenoid as it has copper windings and when the copper winding gets old it functions intermittently. I am sharing a video that will explain it better.

Why won't it start?

There should be a clutch safety switch that prevents you from cranking the engine with the clutch engaged.
Have you checked the switch for power ?

Do you mean it won't start, or won't crank ?
The charging system would not affect starting.

1997 caviler has a electrical problem. went trough 2 starters and keeps having problems. battery is good .

Have you had the "defective" starters tested? If so, did they test bad? The problem with Cavaliers not starting is often the stater relay - a part that was added by recall and is not widely known to exist. they will fail over time, usually starting our by causing intermittent starting problems, then eventually failing entirely. The symptom once it fails is that everything seems normal, but the starter won't crank. The starter relay is in the very front of the ngine compartment, just left of the battery, mounted on the back side of the radiator crossmember

The car won`t start in an intermittent manner. When I turn the key the acc. goes off but I hear no relay. It`s as if I wasn't pushing the clutch down. When it does that I wait for the next day, and it`s...

Check the battery connections to make sure they are clean and shiny by brushing with a wire brush. Intermittent starting problems can be traced to dirty battery connections.

Good luck on this repair.

Car slow to start in the morning, will start after

If it is cranking intermittently then there are lots of items to check. First is your battery in good health? Five years old is old in car life for batteries. Does it have the correct battery? Is the water in the battery at a correct level? Are the connections very clean and tight. Does the engine block have a strong ground connection. Is your starter OK? Starting relay good?
I once had a Camry that gave me fits with intermittent starting. I attached an indicator light in the cab, that was connected directly to the starter solenoid. When you turn the key the light would come on. Finally one time when it did not start but the light was ON then the problem was in the starter! It was in the soleniod, bad, charred connections. Intermittent problem are the worst! Good luck.
