I HAVE A 2001 VW JETTA TDI. THE ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON. I HAD IT CHECKED WITH COMPUTER AND IT HAS A CIRCUIT A OF THE GLOW PLUG CODE. ANY REMEDY'S?

After about every 100Kms one or more glow plugs burn out. Think of them like toaster elements which ignite the fuel on start.
The recommended solution is to replace all 4 at once as the labor for changing one is the same as for changing all 4.
If you change just 1 (and you would have to be able to figure out which one it is - not easy) the other 3 will follow (failing) in a few weeks afterward.

Where can i find the crank sensor in a VW 2001 V6 2.8L

Hi. The crankshaft position sensor is located on the intake sector of the engine block, near the flywheel. This will be on the AAA engine build.

On the ABA build, The crankshaft position sensor is mounted on the side of the engine block, near the crank pulley.

I need to know where the catalyst system bank 1 is

Without knowing what your codes were it's gonna be hard to tell exactly what's wrong. I assume this isn't a TDI?
According to your description the problem is more than likely your O2 sensor (oxygen sensor). "Bank 1" tells me it's the one BEFORE the catalytic converter. You have two - so it's the one towards the front of the car.

2001 vw jetta gs :check engine light goes on and off

sounds like a faulty sensor tripping and reconnecting.. the next time the light comes on, take it to an advance auto store or an auto zone, they can read your codes for free... this will tell you what is being tripped, that way you know exactly what you need to get checked and/or fixed instead of a mechanic poking around trying to find everything thats NOT wrong. but if you are not expeiriencing any difficulty with the car, you should be fine. the check engine light actually means alot less than most people think. its usually a transmission or emissions sensor, or even as simple as leaving your gas cap off after filling and then driving for awhile.

How to replace a coolant temp sensor on a 2001 vw jetta 2.0

Yes it is that easy. It should be a 4 pin connector located on the transmission side of the engine head in a plastic flange. Best is to wait for the engine to be cold. Unscew the radiator cap to relieve pressure but screw it right back on. On the 2.0L engines when you unclip the coolant sensor little or not coolant loss will happen if you do this. Just unplug it, pull out the clip, pull out the sensor, and the seal which sometimes stays stuck. Install the new sensor with a new seal lubricated with some coolant, make sure it's well seated and reinstall the clip. The sensor is well seated if the clip fits right over the top, just make sure both sides clipped into position. Replug it fill the coolant with VW original coolant mixed 50-50 with water if needed and done. If you have a fault you might need a scanner to erase the check engine or fault in the cluster.

What's the reason for changing it? Eratic temperature readings?
