The glass window of my 2005 Crossfire convertible is separating from the top. My car is garaged and in excellent condition otherwise. Please what can I do?

I don't believe we are looking at the same problem; mine is with the widow glass attached to the convertible top. The glass has 70% separated from to canvas.

I believe you misinterpreted my problem; the back window glass of the convertible top has 70% come away from the fabric top. The top is in excellent condition and I'd like to know if there is a way to adhere the top back in place.

Yes there is a way to seal that back up you can use any glue on glass proceedure that would seal this up its just like liquid metal and you can find this at any home depo.

http://www.volvo-forums.com/t9390-glass-... Tihs website may find you a fix to this huge problem some say you have to buy a new roof and some have fixed it with diffrent types of glue's.

You may have to experment with this one as not all glue's work on canvus to glasss applications also not all glues do what they claim you did put a road block in my solution but I do hope I get some stars for trying check out that website its a forum based just like this one but you do not got to pay.

Hi Larry,

as per your explanation, there is a possible issue on the retractable mount of your window. This can be done through DIY but will need special tools to open, recalibrate the glass window on your ride. Best bet is to have it done by a professional to ensure durability and usability of the car's window.

regards,

voodoo

Convertible top coming away from glass window

This is a common problem. At the factory, the top material is bonded to the glass. That bond is breaking down. You can use Gorilla taps or urethane adhesive, but you will eventually need a new window unit.
The window unit is separate from the actual top. The top must be partially removed to replace the window unit.

Glass seperating from convertible top. Top is like brand new and I can't afford a whole new top. Any suggestions? From everything I've read on the web it looks like this car has had this problem alot. ...

Your glass was originally heat sealed to the top material. If the delamination area is small, you may be able to refasten it with urethane adhesive. The same stuff that glass shops use to glue windows to metal. If the delamination has progressed farther than 4-6 inches, you need a new top.
Don't bother with a glass shop, they don't do convertibles. Talk to a convertible top or auto upholstery shop.

2005 Chrysler Crossfire convertible back window falling out! HELP

i posted the same problem paid to have it sealed with silicone and came loose again. i roll a towel and shove it under  the window to support it I am looking for after market top.  I was told this was a COMMON problem.  even though a trim shop did the repair you can tell where it soaked through the top.  I am going to do it myself this time.  but am going to still use the towel for support till i replace the top how sad that chrysler doesnt fix this problem.

Try using urethane sealant to redo the seal between the top and the glass.
I have a VW convertible that had the same problem. The sealant comes in a tube that you use in a caulk gun. Made by 3M and I purchased it from Advance Auto. About 18 bucks.

2005 crossfire top wont go down

This can be caused by your trunk lid not being all the way shut .  But the most times this has happened to me the separator panel that lifts out toward you and latches to separate top from trunk space is not lifted into the latched position.. very frustrating till i figured it out.  Hope this helps helps.

2005 MUSTANG COVERTIBLE MY REAR WIDSHIELD GLASS IS FALLING OFF

This problem is very common and is known as delamination.
If the problem is not too far advanced, you can repair it with Urethane adhesive. It is used by glass shops to install windshields.
Your top and window unit are two separate parts.
If the problem is beyond repair, you will need to remove the rear half of the top and replace the window unit.
