the resistor is located in bottom of heater box under right side of dash it will be close to blower motor. the wires from blower motor go to resistor. check the plug and replace it as well they tend to melt
The blower motor and fan are located in the lower right hand corner of the HVAC module. Remove the right closeout/panel insulator to access the blower. The blower motor resistor is the part where the electrical connector goes into. Here is a pic. of the blower motor assembly and the blower motor resistor. BLOWER MOTOR RESISTOR Good Luck!1 A HELPFUL - 4 THUMBS - rating for this solution would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for using FixYa.
WELL YOU HAVE TO USE A VOLT METER CONNECT ONE VOLT METER WIRES TO GOOD GROUND AND THE OTHER VOLT METER WIRES GOES TO EACH SWITCH SPEED.IF VOLT METER GET VOLTAGE A 1 OR 2 CONTROL SPEED RESISTOR BAD.IF RESISTOR BAD YOU WILL GET 1 OR 2 BLOWER MOTOR SPEEDS.IF BLOWER MOTOR WORKING.CHECK THE AC AND HEATER CONTROL SWITCH FUSE OR CHECK BLOWER MOTOR FUSE AND RELAY.IF ALL GOOD SO FAR CONTROL SWITCH ITSELF COULD BE FAULTY.
Number 2 is your blower motor resister.
Number 3 is a blend door (damper motor)
Number 4 Hose
Number 5 Blower Motor
Number 6 Blower Case
Open glove box you will see it on you left hand side
It will be a very tight fit, Sure take about 30 to 40 minture.
Let me know if this help you..
need new technician.if the blower motor works even with only one speed than the blower motor works and did not need replacement.sounds like blower motor resistor or resistor wiring, when there is a problem with the resistor or wiring you will only have one speed, this way you atleast have heat.so if your tech replaced the blower motor when it worked and did not need replacement then it sounds like he is just throwing parts at it,you have to wonder if he really checked anything.have the resistor and wiring checked and if ok then check the heater control head and wiring.
For the problem of the blower motor only working on high, I just replaced my blower motor resistor. It is located under the hood on the firewall on the passenger side. There is a rectangular plug that connects to it. Remove the plug (tight space). The resistor can be pryed out. It is just held in with retaining clips. Insert the new part (about $15) and reconnect the plug.
Took about 20 minutes. Blower now works on all speeds as normal.
