Question about 1998 Nissan Pathfinder
It is easy to find but hard to explain. standing in front look to the rightish middleish of engine you will see a small idle pulley that above it is a 14mm bolt sticking up you loosen the nut on the pulley then you turn the 14mm sticking straight up to loosen and tighten. so it is the only 14mm bolt thing sticking straight up to the sky. attached to a small pulley loosen pulley the turn 14mm .

Here is a pic of ur idler pulley all u do is just loosen the bolts there and, reverse procedure to put it back. Make sure if u dont have a diagram of where the belt goes draw one.

Alternator belt tension is adjusted on these engines by means of a tension adjusting bolt.
On some vehicles it is easier to access a component from underneath the truck
Loosen the alternator pivot bolt with a box wrench or a ratchet and socket
Use the adjusting bolt to vary tension on the belt
