It is easy to find but hard to explain. standing in front look to the rightish middleish of engine you will see a small idle pulley that above it is a 14mm bolt sticking up you loosen the nut on the pulley then you turn the 14mm sticking straight up to loosen and tighten. so it is the only 14mm bolt thing sticking straight up to the sky. attached to a small pulley loosen pulley the turn 14mm .

I have removed two of the belts on my 1996 Nissan Pathfinder, but I don't know have to move the power steering unit enough to change that belt

There should be an adjusting bolt on one of the mounts of the power steering unit, similar to the one used to adjust tension on the alternator belt. Loosen the bolts securing the power steering unit to its bracket, then turn this adjusting bolt to release tension on the belt.

Replace idler pully on 92 Nissan. Pathfinder 4~4

Looks like there is an idler pulley for the ac belt. The alternator and ps belts are adjusted by moving the components.
The pulley is available without the bracket, so you should be able to loosen the center bolt without removing the bracket. There is an adjusting bolt or rod that you turn to tighten or loosen the belt once you have loosened the bolts for the bracket.

Vg30i, Ka24e And Vg30e Engines

Alternator belt tension is adjusted on these engines by means of a tension adjusting bolt.

  1. Loosen the alternator pivot bolt, then turn the adjusting bolt until proper tension is achieved.
  2. Tighten the mounting bolts securely. If a new belt has been installed, always recheck the tension after a few hundred miles of driving.

Alternator belt came off need to know how to get it back on

must loosen two bolts on alternator (one on bottom or side, one on top), one is so alternator moves left to right. put belt back on and have a second person use a crowbar and pull against belt to make it tight as you tighten down the two bolts.

Replace belts

If memory serves, you have an idler pulley near the top of the engine. This pulley has a tensioning bolt that is secured with a "set"nut. the nut will need to be loosened and by turning the bolt, you will notice the pulley either tension the belt or you will be backing tension off of it. Obviously, you need the tension backed off to the point that you can remove the belt. The other belt is tensioned by a similar device on the alternator, the same process applies. You will likely encounter problems getting the belts around the fan and the fan shroud, like a puzzle. If need be, you can remove the shroud, but it is not necessary. Good Luck. I hope this is helpful!

Need to adjust the fan belts

Which one? The A/C belt is adjusted from the top. Loosen the bolt that goes through the Idle pulley then turn the adjusting bolt next to the pulley to tighten or loosen. Retighten the Idle pulley bolt once adjusted. The Power Steering belt procedure is pretty much the same but has to be done from under the car. The alternator belt is similar but there is no Idle pulley. You loosen the alternator bolts and turn the adjusting bolt. Then retighten the alternator when done.

Removel of altanator on 2001 nissan pathfinder

Disconnect the battery - both positive and negative terminals and remove battery from holder (better access that way). From underneath - remove the plastic shield underneath the front of the car. It is held on by a few bolts. Remove the upper radiator hose (some coolant will drain out). Also free the cable from the support bracket on the top of the platic fan housing. There is an overflow hose that is also clipped to the fan housing unlcip the hose and move it out of the way. From underneath, push in on the clips and the lower half of the fan housing will come out of the bottom. From the top - remove the two bolts holding the upper part of the fan housing and you should be able to work it out from the top. You should now have better visibility and access to the alternator. Loosen the belt tensioner (from below) and remove the belt. There are two mounting bolts on the alternator, a long one through the alternator and a second on the "dog ear" of the alternator. Once the alternator is free - you can get at the battery cable post and the other wires. The wiring harness can be removed by pressing in on the locking clip. Most difficult is the wiring harness support bracket. A short 10mm wrench can get to it. The alternator is now free but will have to be manipulated forward so that it sits below the fan. Once there - you can reach down from the top, and pull the alternator into the larger gap between the fan blades. While rotating the fan, bring the alternator around with it to the top and it will come out. To reinstall -- do everything in reverse. I recommend replacing the belt so you don;t have to do this again.
