I have a 2007 Volvo s40 that makes a loud growling humming sound when driving just had new tires put on and it didn't change the noise.

You may have a faulty wheel bearing, if it's the front you may feel it in the steering wheel, turning side to side the noise may increase or decrease. If the noise is coming from the rear, you may feel it in your seat.

Vibration in rear end

There are several other things which can make a noise. The people you showed the car have the advantage of hearing or feeling the noise that we do not have a chance to do.

A catalytic noise can change with the engine RPM. You can rev up the engine in Park or Neutral and should be able to replicate the noise. If not, then you have a moving part making the noise.

Sometimes the Emergency brake material comes loose from the metal backing and jams inside the rear drum/rotors. It will cause vibration when pulling away from a stop, and eventually will grind into powder.

Rear axle differential clutches. There are friction disks inside some types of rear-ends. A special lube additive makes these work. Sometimes a refill of additive and lube can make marginally performing units more quiet.

U-joints can make noise and vibrate. Its another moving part noise.

The fan clutch can also make noise and vibration. The A/C compressor and compressor clutch bearing can make noise. The A/C clutch operates intermittently depending on pressure and temperature.temperature.

I hear a dragging noise under the drivers seat in my 2003 330xi bmw

Have any of them actually pulled the wheels to inspect the brakes? Pad lining may be low enough to make such a sound/feel especially if it just started making contact with inner pad wear sensor.

Front brakes making noise

Could be that your rotors need to be turned (milled) to take out some of the unevenness. the pads on my last brake job never seated correctly and did not stop smoothly. I would have them checked for both conditions. If a shop did the work and this is what you got, they should fix it for free.

Vibration coming from front axle when coming to a stop it gets worse, brakes are good , maybe cv joint?

if you feel the pulsation in brake pedal when stopping. its a warped brake rotor thats causing it. for bad cv joint symtoms--- Unusual noises when making turns. As you are driving on the road and you make a turn at the corner, if you start hearing unusual sounds coming from under the car then this is one of the symptoms of a bad CV joint. These noises will sound like something is clicking beneath the car every time you turn the steering wheel. Evidence of a damaged boot. Steering wheel feels heavier. The steering wheel will start to feel tighter and heavier and you can hardly make simple turns to the left or right. In severe cases you might even feel heavy vibrations like you are driving down a rocky road.

Noise in u turn and turning left and right, srs light on 2006 crv model

I'm not sure what type of noise you're hearing, but if you feel like it's coming from the rear of the car and it feel like a metal on metal vibration when doing a U turn. You rear differentail might need to be flush. You have to use Honda Dual Pump fluid(need about 3qt) other fluid will damage your differentail.

To flush rear differentail, (Honda dealer flush diff system for about $155)
1. remove both drain plug and let the fluid drain out(picture below)
2.Install lower drain plug, pump fluid in differentail using top plug until fluid come out.
3. install upper drain plug.
4.driver car for 3 miles and make couple U turn left and right.
5.repeat step 1-3 and you're done. Do one more flush if noise is still there.

k42282_37.jpg I'm not sure about your SRS light. The dealer will have to scan for the code. If it's a code for a bad seat belt buckle or seat belt tensioner, it's usully cover under lifetime warranty.(cover only if it wasn't abuse like dog ate it, car crash, hit it with hammer, etc.....)

good luck
