I have a 2002 dodge dakota, and the fan at the very front of the engine compartment is not shutting off when i turn off the truck. this in turn is draining my battery completely. any suggestions on why it is doing this and what i can do to fix it?
Many cars today keep the fan running for a while when the car is turned off in order to compensate for heat soak when the engine stops and builds up heat since the water pump and radiator are no longer operating. This prevents hard starting when the engine is hot. Call a dealer and ask if your model does this. If yes, then your battery is a likely culprit. Is it original?
Check the Computer's Thermostatic Fan Relay. If that's not it replace the Fan's Sensor.
