Where is the cabin air filter on my 2002 audi a6?

For 2007 Audi A6 depending on the engine type, there are two placements for cabin air filters:
1. The cabin air filters are placed on the right bottom side of the central console - passenger side, for 2007 Audi A6 Avant. Remove the carpet and behind the plastic cover are cabin filters. When installing new filters see for the correct position - air flow is indicated by an arrow. See pictures below:

2. For the second placement, besides you need to remove the glove box for access and replace cabin air filters.

The cabin air filter is placed on the right bottom side of the dash panel - passenger side, for 2006 Audi A6. Remove the carpet and behind the plastic cover is the cabin filter. When installing new filter see for the correct position - air flow is indicated by arrow. See pictures below:

yes you will need to use a jack to jack up the front end the filter and drain plug are next to each other

On the A6 your filter is located inside a plastic box on the passenger side of the engine compartment(USA). Yes you can replace it, simply remove the top part of the box, withfraw the old filter and reinstall the new one.

Part number: 4B0819439C.
Filter element (dust and polen filter) with odor and harmful substances filltration. Placed on the right side of the car, (engine bonnet raised), under cover plate for water box (also for battery box), and under water deflector at the bottom of the windshield - right side for Left Hand Steering wheel.
!!! For Right Hand Steering wheel cars the cabin air filter is placed on the left side !!!

IF YOU DON,T KNOW WHERE THE OIL&AIR FILTER ARE.IT WOULD BE BETTER FOR YOU TO TAKE THE CAR TO A LOCAL GARAGE AND GET THE WORK DONE THERE PLUS REPLACE THE OIL.WILL NOT COST MUCH.(GET A PRICE FIRST)..JUST KEEP BACK FROM AUDI DEALERSHIP GARAGES COST TO MUCH MONEY..

We had to remove the glove box first then on the centre consol there is a small removal plate, remove this and locate the filters. There are two .

BE PREPARED FOR ALOT OF WORK IF YOU ARE TO REMOVE THE DASH. FAN UNIT ITSELF IS NOT THAT DIFFICULT IT IS LOCATED PASSENGER LOWER SIDE BEHIND GLOVE BOX. CHECK TO SEE IF YOU CAN SEE YOUR EVAPORATOR THROUGH YOUR CABIN FILTER WHICH IS UNDER HOOD NEAR WINDSHIELD PASSENGER SIDE.

Wow I thought they would have fixed this on the newer body style. My old 2000 A6 had the same issue. There is a drain in front of the bulkhead that gets blocked, in my case by pine needles from my tree. I used a coat hanger to clear it and then cleaned it every couple of months and no more drowning carpet. It used to be next to the battery(which they moved to the trunk) under the windshield wiper motor. I haven't checked the exact location on my 2005 but good to know it's still an issue.
