A person told me I could use transmission fluid for power steering fluid ??? dis be true?

back in the day, possibly, nowadays, no. ATF is 'slippery' and PS fluid is more like hydrolic fluid than anything else

Ford ATF is different from Dexron. Ford fluid contains banana oil, Dexron doesn't. Use only what it calls for. Or, you will always wonder. Good Luck.

My friend has a 1991 ford ranger ....when he drives it ,,it does want to shift into overdrive ...i told him that he might need to change his tranny fluid and filter...his fluid is brownish ...but the...

Has he changed the fluid? this might be all thats needed also can get some good additives these days to help sticking valves in transmission and not too expensive either (approx £30... $50 ?) which for the sake of this small outlay is worth the risk.

Transmission stops working when hot

You are probably having ATF bubbles flowing through your tranny either from overfill or by using cheap ATF / the wrong atf. Consider a drain and refill 3 times (driving for 5 minutes in between a drain and refill. This time only use dealship ATF and I guarantee you the problem will go away.

Radio reciever ....cant get it out

First remove the selector trim panel for the Auto tranny or gear shift and boot trim panel for a manual tranny. remove the cigarette lighter assembly and disconnect the connector. remove the 2 radio mounting screws. You need the insert two radio removal tools T87p-19061 or equivalent into the face plate holes until you feel the tension of the holding clips. If this is the first tome removing the radio, the flashing of the bezel facing has to be broke. This may require extra force. flex outward on both sides of the radio simutaneously and pull the radio out using the tools as handles. Then dissconnect the electrical connectors. Hope this helps.
