SOURCE: 06 pontiac g6 sunroof stuck open, car was left in

by using a simple test light you can check each post individuly with the switch in each position also at the motor end check where the wires go into the motor have someone work the switch in each position and test each wire if you have fire going to the motor corrsponding to the switch position (you should have fire on at least one wire in both closed and another wire in the open position of the switch at the motor) and if so then your motor is probably out

Here's a description the sun roof
Power Sunroof System Components
The power sunroof system consists of the following components:
• Sunroof module
• Sunroof switch
• Sunroof motor, with 2 hall effect sensors and limit switch
• Sunroof window
• Sunroof sunshade panel
• Power supply for the sunroof module: RAP 25 A
• Ground G402

Override
The override function is used when needing to force a closing of the sunroof window. To override the system:
Turn ignition to ON.
Rotate the sunroof switch to the close position.
Press upward.
The sunroof switch data 6 circuit, or override circuit, will become grounded at the sunroof module. As long as the sunroof module sees this input, it will continue to slide the sunroof window to close, regardless of the other sunroof switch data circuits inputs.

Moonroof is stuck

please tell me it isnt a g6 with the panoramic sunroof. if so, take it to the dealership. if not, you may want to check out the motor. not a fun task. the headliner has to be removed at least partially in almost all cases to even get a glimpse. it could be the motor or something in the track, causing the jam and hard operation.

The sunroof will not completely close. There is at least an inch or more gap when the sunroof motor stops. It is causing water to get inside the car.

The motor runs cables to open and close the sun roof. It's called the regulator. it is bad. try helping it to close untill you can have it repaired.

My G6 trunk pools water in the spare tire compartment. I can't seem to find the leak. Any solutions?

It is coming from the break light in the center of the trunk. Pull it out dry it put a beed of clear auto sealer on gasket and your leak is gone.. This is a common problem on the G6.
