Question about 1997 Ford F250 SuperCab

What will a 1997 f250 7.3 diesel with 3.55 gears pull? (auto)

I want to get a 35' aluminum horse trailer but my friend is not sure my 1997 F250 4X4 crew cab single axle with 3.55 gears will pull it. I have a bully dog flip chip and oversized turbo with oversized tranny cooler.

Check the dealer's website. They should be able to tell you the towing rate.

Trying to figure out how much weight i can pull with our burb. the door stick is worn off and the manual gives two different options depending on the gear ratio i bought the burb used so not sure what the...

The weight of the trailer is the most important factor. A good weight-to-horsepower ratio is about 35:1, 35 lbs. of Gross Combined Weight (GCW) for every horsepower your engine develops. Multiply the engine's rated horsepower by 35 and subtract the weight of the vehicle passengers and luggage. The number remaining is the approximate ideal maximum weight you should tow, although a numerically higher axle ratio can help compensate for heavier weight.

Hope this help (remember rated this).

How to improve power without buying a new truck

a few things you could do would be to turn up the pump, bigger injectors, add a turbo and after cooler, and differents gears in the differentials and/or transmission, rear axle airbags would improve your ride quality too, also i beleive its a 444 cu. in. engine if its an international 7.3( ford 7.3 )

Hi Kimberly. I have the same model. The F-250 is a 3/4 ton truck, and more than capable of pulling your horse trailer safely.
