SOURCE: FUEL PUMP MODULE
Hello alfred_landr: My name is Roger and I will answer your question. The fuel pump module unit is located inside the fuel tank. Should your truck have 2 tanks than you will have two modules. One in each tank. Should you need further help please just ask. Thank You for using Fix Ya. Roger

The fuel pump is in the gas tank. Buy a cheep fuel pressure tester from harbor freight.com and on the top of the engine is a metal rail with a plastic cap on it, remove cap put gage on and read pressure

SOURCE: fuel pump
Yes they are the same, the job of the fuel pump driver module is an electric voltage regulator that varies the voltage supplied to the fuel pump to slow it down, this makes it run very quietly and does away with the whine at idle that some people find annoying as I have found from personnel shop experience at the Ford dealer I worked for for 20 years..
