You should be able to pull on the knob which should make the switch assembly come apart. Then you can get the rest of the assembly out, plug the connector into the new assembly, and then snap it into place.

You need to remove the stereo, and wood trim to properly unplug the old switch and replace it with the new one. I suggest you use a magnetized tool so you dont lose any screws because you will. Look online fro detailed instructions, it will take you about an hour but well worth the satisfaction of repairing something yourself.

I need to put the head light control back in to place in my chevy traverse 2011 but we dont know how to take apart the dash to get it back in. Can someone help please?

Follow the trim panel under the steering wheel down towards the firewall. At the very bottom you'll find two screws/bolts. Remove them. Once those are out, the entire panel comes out by pulling on it. It's held in by snap clips at the four corners and one additional clip to the right of the headlight switch. Once the panel is off, disconnect the conntector from the headlight switch. Then you can swap the switch.

What does the yellow arrow flashing on the dash mean on a 98 s90 volvo

That generally means the transmission, and most likely the PNP switch are malfunctioning.

You can typically limp it along by pushing the button on the shifter and moving it from "1" to "P" back and forth a few times in rapid succession, but ultimately you need to replace the PNP switch.

The OEM switch is about $170 and the aftermarket part is about $70. For this sort of thing, I'd use the more expensive factory part.

They're available at FCPGroton, IPDUSA and eEuroparts and other places.

Go to a junck yard and buy a new switch for $5 or less and replace it. its not rocket science. most dash trim is simple snap togather stuff. pry with a regular screwdriver around the edges if you cant find any screws that hold the plastic trim on. good luck !

I have a 1998 volvo v70 non turbo engine. In cold weather the headlights and the dash lights wont come on until the engine has warmed up considerably. In really cold weather -30c or so this can take...

I would suspect the headlight switch before anything else. Cycle it on and off and fiddle with the position a little bit when this is happening. See if you can get a flicker or a response of any sort. You didn't say where you are so I don't know if you have DRL's which can complicate things. Put several car warmers in the car so that the interior is warm and see if the problem changes. If it does, that points to a switch or underdash connector problem of some sort. Sorry I can't be more helpful. These can be tough problems and sometime as easy as tightening up one connector (AFTER you find the miserable little ...).

1993 f-150 headlight switch removal? Take dash apart or is there a better way? No access to the switch from under dash.

the pull switch for the hed lights snaps in place, if you pull out to turn the lights on and turn the knob as to dim the lights you'll see a notch in the knob. with a small screw driver or pick tool you can lift a metal tab and remove the knob, then remove to two trim pieces left and right of the steering wheel and there will be two 1/4 in nut drive screws, remove those and the gage cluster dash trim can be pulled right off exposing the head light switch

Replace head light switch 1996 blazer

First you need to take the lower trim panel off under steering column the you will see the other screws that hold that trim around the head lamp switch, you may want to look for some screws that will go straight up towards top of dash that are in front of the instrument cluster (hard to see) and some may be on the sides of the same trim piece that covers that instrument cluster. let me know
