Question about 2000 Ford Expedition

Intermittent no start, very strange, very confusing

Truck wont start sometimes after being driven for about 20 mins and then left off for about 20 mins, normal crank, no fuel at engine, fuel pump not coming on, get it towed once off tow truck starts right up as if nothing happened.  Reproduced problem at home, only this time there was fuel at engine and could hear pump come on, would start but die immediately, left it for about an hour went to start same as before where there was no fuel and pump didnt come on, cycled key 4-5x times and started right up. reproduced again at home (a different day) checked for power at pump, when starts power at pump =13.5 volts when not starting power at pump = 9 volts. All relays/fuses are good, inertia switch is good, battery is good. Any suggestions????

Sounds like fuel pump going out. I was told by a friend that the pump can get stuck and that by knocking on the fuel tank or by attempting to start that it can kick the pump out of the bad spot and it will start. But it is a sign that it needs to be replaced.

What would cause the head lights and instrument panel to flicker on a 2009 dodge journey

The headlight switch might be the reason the headlights are flickering. Pls try to turn off headlights and see if the instruments still show strange behavior.
If the problem persists, try pulling fuses (one at a time) to see if you can find the circuit which is causing the problem. There might be intermittent shorts / no connection in a circuit other than headlights.

96 Benz ran out of gas other day, got it filled up & drove home (20 miles). Next day drove about 40 miles, left car running in park for about 15 min, when I left car was stalling like it was running o

You never leave a car running, as it will
overheat the Exhaust Converter
When you run out of fuel, you sometimes
ruin the Fuel Pump
It depends on gas to lubricate it,as strange as it sounds
Check fuel pressure & volume at the motor with a gauge

Battery dead after a day (repeatedly.....)

Take your truck to your local Auto Zone and aske them to test your alteranter. They will do this at no charge. If you can "jump" it and it starts ok, I bet the alt is bad. Check it out, costs nothing but your time!

Truck will not start, i change the stater and recharged my battery. truck will not start.

i had a 72 blazer that that happened to. my stater was was right next to the headers and would heat it up as i drove. it would take about 20-40 min to cool depending on time driven. i bought a heat shield for the starter ($30) and problem solved. may work 4 u.

Truck shuts down

Have the Cam Position Sensor changed. Ford has a recall to replace it to the new style. Typically the CPS does not cause an intermittent problem b ut mine did the same and stopped once the CPS was changed. If Ford will not fix it the new sensor is around $20-25.
