I'm having a starting problem which I believe is PATS security system related. engine cranks fine crank sensor is ok.

What make , model and year vehicle ? You mention PATS , that's ford , mercury , lincoln . Light flashing when cranking the vehicle ,anti-theft problem . Nothing you can do , unless you have a factory scan tool . Your best bet ,dealer . Disconnecting the battery isn't going to do anything . Need to have vehicle checked for DTC'S diagnostic trouble codes , do diagnostic's for the code . Replace or fix what ever the problem is . If a module needs to be replace , key's need to be programmed . Dealer or mobile lock smith that is licensed ! Don't know what your trying to say here OBD reading protocol OSD 9141 AND KEYWORD:2000 ,these have nothing to do with PATS -

Have a Honda Accord 2008 v6 chk engineer light on code iso 9141 meaning?

Trevor, I believe this is not a code, iso 9141 is communication protocol/ communication speed, When the scan tools make a connection to the OBD port it matches the communication speed at which your ECM communicates with the scan tool. If that is all you are seeing for a code and your engine light is on, try a different scan tool. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

2006 Honda civic coupe, code 9141, I know it had too much oil in it, but it jerks and slows down when driving, also white smoke coming from tail pipe, any ideas

The "9141" is an ISO standard (general) alert... Not a code.

Some better engines DO NOT handle water in the fuel well... and Honda is definitely a BETTER ENGINE (Highly recommend fuel treatment here)..

Sorry to hear about your troubles.
SADLY... "too much oil" opens a whole world of possibilities.

None of them being good... It is way worse than running with "not enough oil"... Oil, water or any liquid DOES NOT COMPRESS and in an enclosed explosive environment can perfectly transmit (hydraulic: fluid dynamics) all that power to the WEAKEST SPOT in your engine... Hopefully a oil filler cap or tube seal... rather than a head-gasket .

Typically blue smoke is oil... brown/black is gas (black = drowning) and WHITE is water... Hopefully your fuel supply got a dose of water into your gas tank. Any alcohol based additive can cause minimal water in the fuel tank to be harmlessly absorbed... and allow it to be consumed.

A compression test will give a good idea of the current condition of the heads, cylinders and pistons.

Water is a NATURAL byproduct of combustion... so a little moisture should not alarm... but continued white smoke from a warm engine should provoke great caution. Sudden drops in coolant levels... means plan on some serious mechanical work... White or grey froth in the OIL... means you should cease engine operation immediately (the motor MAY still be salvageable).

Check that oil first...

Hoping it is a trivial trouble...!!

Trying to find the reason for code p2000

The scan tool your using is generic ISO 9141 is used as the protocal. Its not a code. kwp2000 is not shown. Try and use it on manufacture specific or try and get any freeze frame codes and reply or repost. ( Don't forget to turn ignition key to the run position when trying to retrieve codes.)

Trouble code 9141

ElmScan ISO is a PC-based scan tool, and our most popular OBD-II interface. It supports the ISO9141-2 and ISO14230-4 protocols used mostly in Chrysler Corporation, European, and Asian vehicles. Be sure to determine the communication protocol used in your vehicle before purchasing this scan tool.
Processor: ELM323, crystal-controlled for accuracy
OBD-II Protocol: ISO 9141-2 and ISO 14230-4 (KWP2000)
Output protocol: RS232
Indicator LED's: OBD Tx/Rx, RS232 Tx/Rx, Power
Operating voltage: 12V, internal protection from short circuits/overvoltages
Dimensions: 3"x4" (76x102 mm)

The interface can be used in conjunction with our free software to turn your laptop or desktop computer into a fairly sophisticated auto diagnostic system. The program has a built-in database of more than 3000 trouble codes, and allows you to read and erase stored trouble codes and oxygen test results, turn off the MIL ("Check Engine" light), and display real-time sensor data. For more information about the program, please visit our Software page.
